I made a new rocket engine mount for it because candyman stated in the other thread that it has the discharge that deploys the parachute so i made a new mount with a back plate on it so it deflects that so it dont melt the plastic shock tower.

heres another

One suggestion,

I'd use the rocket tube for the engine holder. Cut it so it's about 80% as long as the engine, seal it on the front end and slide the rocket into it with a little bit of tape for friction to hold it in, but not secure it semi permanent. I had this happen on a rocket a long time ago. The nose cone had more friction than the motor and the motor got ejected and not the nose cone. ICBM time on that one. Anyway, back to the project, it looks like you bend sheet metal pretty good so I'd make a shield like the one you have but also make a box for the rocket pack (if you use multiple rockets in the pack). When the burn is over the parachute charge will eject the motor(s) automatically.

Just a thought.
Whitt...

hey thats a pretty good idea an automatic engine ejector. Maybe ill look into that. But first I'm gonna test it like this first just to see if it actually even works.

Whether it acutally makes it ballistic or not isn't really that important. It'll look damned cool with a big rocket exhaust comming out the back, especially if you time it just right on a jump.

To get the full effect of rocket boost, you'd need a 1 way bearing on the tranny so the rocket isn't fighting the main drive (kind of like letting off the gas in a real car slowing it down).

Hope it works, but be careful with those rockest, they're no joke if something goes wrong.

It's looking a little more protected at this point. You're well on your way with that one.

Just for reference, here are the 2 threads from the Orange County T-Maxx Club that go over their trials and errors with a rocket powered Maxx.

RocketMaxx 1

RocketMaxx2

and there are also some good videos there to watch. Should give you an idea what to look out for....
