Hmm, thought eBay rules stated you had to have the item in hand, no pre-selling. Used to go through the same crap with diecast several years ago with people selling limited club pieces before they went on sell and then not getting them and people were getting ripped.

Ya, they said it doesn't matter how wore out the motor is etc...so I'm thinking of sending them a blown 2.5 I got laying here for a 3.3.

Can't hurt to try. Worse that can happen is that they tell you NO! I bet you for the $130.00 ESP they take it.

I was about to go pick up a Revo for myself so i could race around against my son's Revo....then i saw this....well, this changes everything!!
Off to find out when my LHS will have them in stock and see if they are taking pre-orders.

Man, can't wait!!

Scott

Tower lists the 3.3 Revo as $531.99 due in mid March.
They already have the 3.3 T-Maxx listed in stock.

I already pre ordered a 3.3 Revo from my LHS..also due 2 week of March(fingers crossed).

Scott

They also have the engine posted at $152 with the IPS and pull start... Doesn't look like it's worth the hassle of using the engine replacement thing from traxxas. For my $, I'd buy the engine outright and get the 2.5R pinched when it needs it so I could have a backup engine.

Well my Tmaxx still needs a motor, just thinking of killing a few birds with one stone. I buy a BB for the Revo and toss the old 2.5r on the Tmaxx. They both will have motors then ;) I'm still debating using an RB 323 also instead of the 3.3 traxxas :ponder2:

Ray

And you can use the engine exchange to up the 2.5r on the Maxx to a 3.3 later.

Olds, i know what your saying man, looked into this "exchange" last year when it came time to rebuild the mill in my sons old pro .15 T-Maxx, i was going to upgrade it to the 2.5...well the "exchange" is a load of BS if ya ask me and not worth the time and hassel...i ended up getting a brand new mill off ebay for half the cost anyway..geez!

Same with the guys wanting to upgrade to the new 3.3....i would just buy it myself somewhere else..IMO.

Scott

What makes the exchange not worth it? How much would a new 3.3 cost out right vs an exchange deal with traxxas. The exchange deal has the 3.3 for 130.00 plus 5.00 shipping on the new motor and probaly 5.00 on the old motor making it 145.00 bux. The cheapest motor I've found for the Revo was 219.00 which is a 74.00 dollar difference? Just wondering since I'm looking for something bigger for the Revo soon.

Thanks
Ray

Tower has the trx3.3 posted for $152 (due in march).

In my mind, throw $20 into the old trx 2.5r for a pinch as a backup engine instead of giving it to traxxas to save $10 on a new 3.3 using the ERP.

Oh now I see:loser:

If they sale the motor for 152.00 bux new, I'll buy that and keep my old motors. I was thinking one may save 30.00 bux or more doing the exchange through Traxxas. Now I just need to make up my mind what I want...to save money to get a bigger motor. My choices so far is a:

Traxxas 3.3
OS.18 TM
RB 323

Thanks people.

haha nice i have 2 stock 2.5 mills just sitting out of car.. time to replace them both and put one in a tmaxx. one in a revo I'm building sweet sweet sweet..

Hard to say for sure since it won't be released until March 30th, and that is if Traxxas has it ready to go when they say they do.

i just got my 3.3, but not mounted yet

Hey hows does it look? What car are you mounting it in and are you using the stock header and pipe? Also where did you buy it from? I am sort of wondering ( according to traxxas) how a .15 and .20 will put the same amount of air out of the rear port. I am sure there is a point at which you will have to have a bigger header for more air to escape.

i was just wondering if the 3.3 was going to be that good in ur opinon or should i just get the standard revo

Gotcha, I would say wait for two reasons. 1 the new one should be better being longer for one and with the bigger mill. 2 the 3.3R may bring the price down a little on the 2.5 (I'm guessing on that though) since LHS may want to unload the old to make room for the new. Just to clear up you are talking the whole truck and not just the mill right? The mill is out and available.
