So i scooped up this vintage 1985 Bruiser a couple years back, as I had one when I was a kid. Which I had begged my buddy to sell me for months. He finally gave in and sold it to me, but I could never get it to work properly. I ended up turning 16 and bought my first car and rc stuff just sat. I ended up selling my hole collection for like 800 bucks back then. Anyhow I got this one and it was in really rough shape. I took it apart totally disassembled it and cleaned everything metal and put it back together. Then it sat for another year or so as I have too many projects. A couple months ago I threw in an esc and wired it up, programmed an auxiliary channel on my dx5c rugged and got it to move and shift gears. Then back on the shelf it went. I've been trying to reign in my rc budget these past couple months, which I've managed to do successfully! Now tonight for whatever reason I woke up at 1 am and cannot fall back asleep. So back down the Bruiser worm hole I go. I want to make a nice trail truck out of it, so I think to myself let's put a hobbywing fusion 2n1 in it. No easy task as the og has a big 750 motor in it. Rc4wd used to make an adapter but its not available anymore. No problem I'll go out and spin one up on my lathe. But then I look closer at the bruiser and notice the motor has a mount on the endbell supporting the whole thing🤦‍♂️. Now I'm researching the rere motor mount plate that uses 540 motor, and has a mount for the trans. Ai says its interchangeable, so I'm gonna find out. Hopefully it works. I have some other parts to install aswell. Hot racing steering bell crank, I'm gonna try one of the cheap high torque metal gear servos from ebay, I have a new cab so it will get a nice paint job, new glass and detailed interior. Either way I will make it work. Should be a fun little truck.

Welp, got my rere transmission bell housing and transmission mount. Tirns out they are not interchangeable. So I stuck a hobbywing 1040 in it and took it outside for a walk with my dogs. I think its got a bent rear axle shaft as it locks up off throttle. The vintage Imex ground hawgs dig good but they are not soft enough to actually crawl. Gotta tune my servo a little more for the shifting. But other then that its a fun little trail truck.
