Alright. Here is what I got last night:

GWS F4U Corsair Park Flyer

JR 5 channel computer radio, XF421EX FM Micro

GWS high capacity speed control

extra JR micro servo for airlerons

2 Lipoly 870ma packs

MRC super brain 969 charger

Misc building equipment and supplies

I think i got everything - anyone recommend anything else? I can't wait. This is my first park flyer, and my first airplane in almost 10 years. Looking forward to getting back into this aspect of RC. I will start building it this weekend.

Wow - not many people into this eh? Candyman, Kwong, Christian - where are ya? I know all of you are plane people too.

I saw your original post, but you went way beyond my knowlege base when you decided to run LiPolys in it. I have never used them so I don't know much about them. I do like GWS planes. Actually at some point I'm going to get their P-51 (my fave WWII plane). But right now my flying skills need to be brushed up a bit. Everything else you bought sounds good. Perhaps with that 5th channel you can upgrade to retracts at some point....

I am looking at getting a plane also NA, I have been taking suggestions from Error as he has a lot of planes and a lot of experience with them. I wanted to start wit a ducted jet but he advised against it since it is my first RC plane so I will be getting a park flyer also. Take a bunch of pics and let me know how it goes

RCU actually paid for this item, since i will be writing a review for it in the online magazine. When the review is done, i will link you all too it. In the meantime, i will be posting some pics here too. I just picked up "Dreamweaver 4" an HTML program, which will enable me to write all the code for the review -= so I'm learning a bunch of things at once.

Geez, mods get all the perks. Even if your the car forum mod... Lucky stiff. I do hope it's all that it appears to be. The GWS stuff seems to get favorable reviews in the mags. I read Backyard Flyer and the planes always look good there. But then again, they have to....

i dug around the box the other day and i was impressed. i am not starting the build until tonight. Directions are amazing - full color, glossy print manual with real detailed instructions.

Dude, you're gonna love working with DW. I'm using MX 2004 and it is the best html editor I've ever played with. I just wish I could code flash better.

error - u seriously need to email me at home tonight, I'm on a hard learning curve - i have 0% experience with this, although DW is helping me alot. great tutorials. email me at [email protected] - and i will email you a copy of what i have done so far, see what you think of my first try

I'm thinking of getting into planes this summer ... i heard that you can't fly them when the wind is more than 5 mph though , i live in pittsburgh and its pretty windy... so I'm not sre i can do that

When I started using DW it was hard because the GUI and tools are nothing like MS's stuff. It takes a minute but it is a GREAT program. I think RCNT will get to the point where manufacturers are throwing stuff at WoddiE to get publicity. I sure he will share the wealth with peopel that want to do reviews and what not. I think RCNT is on its way to big time notirity.

As a general rule, the lighter the plane is, the less wind it will tolerate.

But to be more specific, the more the wing loading is, the higher the max speed of the plane is, and the more areodynamic a plane is, the more wind it will tolerate.

I used to compete in pattern, or precision areobatics. At one comp in NC, the wind was blowing 90 degrees to the flightline at an average of 25mph with gusts to 35. That was intense! When going vertical and flying in general, the plane was crabbed about 45 degrees, looked weird, but it can be done.

Don't let the wind spook you. Wind is fun. Another plane I have is called a predator. It's a fun fly with a fat wing and huge control surfaces. If the wind is constant (not gusting or swirly) I can land it harrier style, hover it, and once I landed it with a negative ground speed. It hovers at about 15 mph airspeed.

And yes Dreamweaver is THE SCHIZNIT. Don't know about version 4 or MX, but MX 2004 has a slick ftp util hardcoded in the app. Just set up the server settings, edit the page and tell it to "put" the file and BAM, it's on the server. Dynamic hyperlink updates, and a cool split screen code/wysisyg page editing layout (or strait code or design layouts too). FP sux, IMO.

Whitt...

awesome ... that p47 looks really cool . if i were to get somethign like taht over the summer, what kind of price tag am i looking at for a finished product ?

if u sqeaked by and got all the cheapest equipment, maybe 250 or so. The total price on my package was 410.00

oh , 410 isnt bad at all . ill start asking lots of questions and get annoying a little later. thanks for the vids.

oh . so they just dont use it in the video ? because they just belly landed it ... and i will ahve to land on pavement and i think it might get torn up a little if i have no landing gear ...

they take the gear of for a more scale appearance and to reduce weight
