I have a Savage .21 that is completely stock with exception of the Airfilter and fuel filter. I use it for only backyard bashing, There are no tracks around me that I know of to race on so I am happy to just bash with it. I want to get a different engine for it. Nothing wrong with the .21 except I long for more power. I am open for suggestions from anyone. So please fire away.

First, you might want to look into the 4 spider mod. Then, the novarossi TOP .28 would be a killer engine in an application like yours.

I would say either a Wasp .28 ar a TOP .28.

I own a Wasp .28 and love it, its an excelent engine for around the yard.

I guess it depends on if you want, dare I say it..., to much power or more power. For more power, the XTM 24.7 is a pretty good engine and shouldn't chew up your drivetrain like some of the High power 28's that are being suggested. Also, the dynamite mach 21 is a good runner.

Thanks for the suggestions guys I really appreciate it. As stated before I am just a backyard basher, and my .21 is 2.5 years old, still runs good but I just long for more power. Thanks again for all the suggestions. By all means if anyone else has any more, please add them.

I bought the Sh .28 and I can't wait to break it in. Paid $140 shipped.

Make sure your drivetrain can handle the extra horsepower. Look into the 4 spider diff mod, the HPI HD dogbones, HD drivecups, and HD center universals.
You will want to add stopping power, so the HPI dual disk brake kit is a good option.

I agree, beef your diffs 1st! I have a Savage with the REX.28, 8port and it is SICK! There IS such a thing as too much power! but I love it! As for me and my vehicles, we will stick with the mid to hi-end motors, as my time is too precious to waste. This is purely my oppinion, so don't anyone get offended! You can have a blast with any of the sport motors! It really depends on what you want.
