New out of box Os .21 running hot

I actually prefer the Werks Racing 4-shoe clutch to the 2-shoe Traxxas. The Traxxas clutch isn't as reliable as the other clutches or as adjustable either. I had 3 Traxxas clutch failures versus none for the Werks Racing Clutch.

Well yeah that is a great clutch. I've yet to have a traxxas fail that wasn't due to fail but it indeed does happen. But for bashing they are dirt cheap and well enough. For a track no I wouldn't recommend..

I'm pretty sure that "ping" you're describing is just the crank going past center at tdc, and it's perfectly normal.

^ yeah that's what it was haha. All is good besides the walk away issue. Gotta decide on another clutch. I have the factory one in the leading direction. There was a lot of clutch dust in the bell and the shoes aren't perfectly round.
