opinions on the nitro slash? think they'll come out in 4x4 or die off in popularity? opinions on the TRX .15, 2.5 and 3.3? or is making my SC10 brushless, buying a charger and several lipos, and several upgrades a more practical route on a budget?all of these are possible future additions to my RC selection sometime this summer.

Gonna be an opinion thing really here more than clear facts. I wouldnt spend a penny to get the nitro slash, well, maybe a penny :D

Just doing the brushless/lipo plan would be better performance and lots easier fun. They both have to cool off, but other than that, just switching packs will keep you going non stop instead of dorking around with tuning and tuning and tuning and so on.

I bet traxxas is already bumbed about the out come of the nitro slash.

Bah I run primarily nitro, race my slayer and I love it. Tuning is part of the fun! Once you get the hang of its pretty simple. Yes more things go wrong but there's nothing like the sound and smell.

Honestly the choice depends on your local track if u plan on racing. Some locations run a lot of nitros some don't run any.

On a nitro if you replace the RX pack with a Lipo/Life and either run HV servos or use a bec, you can pretty much run for hours or days. Set your timer to go off with a minute or two to spare before you run out of fuel and you can refuel and go without restarting. Just like the real thing.

I've got electrics too. It's interesting to note, doing the above and I can out endure all the electrics during practice. To the point wherein I get the track for 30-45 minutes all to myself while everyone recharges their packs. lol.

Yep I just run a cheap rechargeable 6v pack in my nitros and I can run all day...when they run lol.

Nitros do have more downtime but they also have longer run times as stated above. It helps to be mechanically inclined as well as they are engines...that basic knowledge helps.

Either way I find nitros are 10x as fun and they can be wicked fast. I enjoy the realism, sounds, smells... damn now I want to run one just thinking about it lol
