HMMMMM kyosho's fragile, I don't think so. Here at our local track, the only parts stocked are for the mugen, k cars, and ofna's. No thunder tiger or xray parts.

I've been driveing my 777 for about 6 months now, and through 3 big races with club races every saturday, and have only broken 2 parts. The shocks have never been rebuilt, just refilled and cleaned. The diffs have only been refilled maybe 3 times, And I still have kyosho bearings through out that came in the kit, with the excpetion of the clutch. for me and the other 20 or so at our local track that run em, the k cars are tougher then nails.

I however am looking into the xray, just to maybe try something else out. Havn't done a whole bunch of research on em yet though. I doubt I'll ever move to far away from the kyosho's though.

I'm not saying they are pansey material but for someone not really having experience (like myself) will have some pretty bad wrecks while learning.....the kyoshos don't seem to hold up as well as the other 2 brands......I saw a prospec hit a fence post at full speed in the air while going for a big triple...he just hit it at a slightly off angle and tagged this thing full on...it fell I picked it up and we did a spot check I dropped it on the track and off he went.....drove for another 20-30 mins before packing it up for the night...no problems.....then I see a 777 sp1 that seems to like brushing the boards on wide turns....this thing seems to drop A-arms cause it's scared or something.......I know alot of this can be mech's wrenching but the steering knuckles seem to be the weak point to me....price also keeps me from venturing into their realm....I love my Xray BTW.....the mugen is real nice but the XB8 flies so easy compared to it....on bad take offs it almost seems to correct itself right from the get go......the mugen needed more throttle control it seemed.....and God knows I've hammered my xray w/ some brutal beatings and it just keeps going......the only thing I've busted on it was a center diff and that was from lack of maintenance.....hardware issues too but they all have those......brandon if you do get an Xray get teh solid front brace the same day...makes a huge difference in the stability at speed.....

thanks for the pointers. Thats one thing that I hated about the mugen, and that scares me about anything other then a k car. Maintinance. With the k cars, you hardly ever have to do it, and if you neglect too, they never seem to suffer the effects to much.

around me I see the opposite...the guys running K-cars are always wrenching...the mugen guys jusst throw em in the bag til next week.....dunno...humidity helping us here maybe???...lol....I get slacker for a few weeks then tear it all down and clean it and rebuild it good.......works well so far....

TTR S3 Pro (Pro= cause it has every pro upgrade you can buy) handles equally as well as my Prospec. Parts haven't been an issue as of yet, even though I've clobered quite a few things on the track, my son even jumped it off the track into a metal sign post with no damage at all. On another occassion, I had a throttle servo die @ WOT after comming off a large jump (@ Mills Pond) and the S3 punched a hole in 1/4" PVC lattace fencing, fly another 2 ft, slam into a chain link fence and slam into the ground. Not one thing was brocken on it! I swapped servos and ran it for another hour. Now that's one tough buggy!

If the ttr is so tuff, how come all the factory guys are testing out a new chassis without the tunnel? Different shocks? Pretty much anything that was inovative on the car they are testing prototypes to change it. NOT BASHING HERE just asking why?

i friend of mine has a Mayhem. he likes it but does not drive well to him, so on a soft spot i let him drive my Mugen. He is now getting a Mugen.
