when i got mine, the trans case was way to tight. maybe check that.

I run mine without the spur/pinion cover. I noticed it was creating some issues with rubbing as well. I'm sure it could be modded, but I never bothered.

For the record I'm running the 8750 motor with lipo and stock gearing. It's perfect for the living room. I'll probably go for the faster motor if I build a little outside track this spring.

what motor is that? and I'm still waiting on horizon to get back to me about way they shut down with lipos when they email me ill post the responce if any ones interested:dancingpoop:

That's the stock brushless motor and ESC combo Losi sells. I've been running the optional brushless motor which is the 10250 kV motor. That one I can't run in the house anymore.

i think the brushless for the micro's are retarded, a friend of mine bought my micro desert truck and brushless lipo'd it flipped the wheels around to make it wider with ball bearings and a couple aluminum things, all it does is cyclone's even if your already 3/4 throttle and grab the rest it'll just start spinning
it gets kind of annoying now nobody runs it we just use another one with bb2 and his lipo with same aluminum and its perfectly controllable

More Power = Less Control

Power means nothing without control. Gotta learn how to drive it. Dont' know what else to tell ya.

so losi (horizon hobby) got back to me today. heres what they had to say
Hello,

Thank you for contacting Horizon Hobby Product Support.

I am sorry that you are having problems with your MicroT. If you reinstall the stock battery, does the vehicle run normally? If so, this is typically an indication of thermal shutdown, where the push that the motor is trying to perform draws an excess of heat. Generally speaking, any time you try to increase power output through a stock motor setup(as when increasing voltage), you will need to reduce your gearing (down in pinion and/or up in spur). I would suggest reducing your pinion by a tooth and see if this resolves your issue.
i did all that before emailing them and told them what all i tryed it seems to me that its an esc thing not a motor issue:angry:

ok so after spending alot of time on losi forum i found out to loosen the gearbox alittle and it will make it alot faster so i backed the three screws out about a 1/4 turn and that made a big differance and then my stock battery took a s*&t on my so i went to my lhs and ordered a lipo still waiting on another reply from losi my lhs hasnt heard of shut down on lipos untill now but they are checking with losi as well. hopefully get something figuered out soon cause I've been thinking about getting a 10t but if losi can't figure this out I'm not going to spend 6 or 7 hundred on another losi

Today Jan. 19th

A week and a half ago, Jan. 9th.

i know but i wanted to see if anyone else had to do it to wasn't just going to start backing out screws if everyone wasn't doing it

Yes, I had to loosen my trans case too. Also, Losi's answer of having to gear down a stock motor (from stock gearing), with a pack that puts out more power doesn't make sense at all.

i know but i wanted to see if anyone else had to do it to wasn't just going to start backing out screws if everyone wasn't doing it

10 wasted days, burnt up electronics and the answer was right in front of ya.:) Lesson learned I suppose. Every vehicle doesn't come out of the factory exactly the same. So everybody doesn't always have the exact same problems.

read losis forum almost everyone that has a micro t has had the same issue with the lipos they just need to come out and say that you can't run the lipo off of the stock set up but they are suposed to call me

and i didnt burn anything up i put the stock battery back in but now my stock battery will only hold a charge for a 3 minute run i played with this truck alot in the past month

Your battery pack hasn't "gone to ****" for no reason. It's from the excess drag from the case being pinched. I'd take the screws even looser to see if it frees up any more. Roll it, loosen, roll it again until it's as free as it's going to get. Then tighten it until it becomes slightly tighter, then back it off until it's right. You don't want even a hair of extra drag.

so I've talk to horizon hobbys and they are sending me a new esc to try out and if it works they'll send me 2 more but they also refered me to losi in cali and he said the esc is where he would start and he was going to get 2 or 3 and try the lipos and call me back but that was last night so i guess he didnt come up with what was wrong with them yet. and he is suposed to look into all the claims on losi forum so if you have one of these and have had a shut down problem you may want to get on losi site and say something about it. more to come when i get a call back from the cali guys
