so i got a micro t and i was wanting to make it faster any suggestions without spending the 200 my lhs wants to make it brushless? can't see spending that much on a truck that only cost 80 buck

Get the lipo battery. It will make the micro quite a bit faster and is only about $40 with the charger.

my father in law got one and it keeps shutting down on him

I don't see $200 for a brushless conversion. Here are the necessary parts at Horizon Hobby:

The total ends up under $150. The actual conversion is easy and straight forward. This also includes the LiPo for the critter. Personally I think that if you don't have a large area to run indoors (like a basketball court), brushless isn't really necessary.

Get the bearing kit and clean out any fuzz around the axles. And try not hitting WOT off the line. :)

I never went with lipo, but I did go with 4 aaa's, which gives me ridiculous runtimes. At a severe weight cost. With stock tires it's fine, but they are so small, so I got the raminator tires/wheels for it and with the extra weight, it was shutting down on me all the time too. Then I bought a double BB motor, a bearing kit, and geared it to the smallest pinion and now it runs fine. If I can keep from grenading the diff.

thanks i got the double bb motor on its way and i got some derlin gears to go with it and i think ill just try a small lipo and see how she run me and the father inlaw are goin to build a track to race on out of two 4x8 peices of ply wood any ideas on what to put on it when we get done ill post some pics:D

I could agree more with the above. I don't see a point in going brushless on something so small unless you're racing indoors somewhere. The trucks are so small, they get thrown all over the place with the least little thing, like a pebble. I also did the Dual BB motor, and lipo, and it's ridiculous fast for being that small. In my apt, it's too much to be honest. I run the mirco DT wheels and tires all around for a little more clearance to keep fuzz from wrapping up in the CVDs.

I have a DT with the brushless conversion. IMO it's well worth it. One of the most fun rigs I own. I think the T version has too short of a wheelbase to be too overpowered.

I guess I should have mentioned that I have a brushless/LiPo Micro D/T and it is way over-powered. I need at least a basketball court to drive it because it has so much power. It does have a huge grin factor.

I used to take it to the local on-road track for between heat stress relief. Everyone that saw or drove it had a huge grin on their face.

A basketball court? I don't think it needs that much room to stretch its legs. Maybe mine just isn't geared very tall. I run stock gearing still. . I kinda wish I had a micro backyard track for it.

thats what I'm going to do but it will be in in door track it will be atleast and 8 x 8 plywood base

My Micro D/T is geared tall. It also doesn't help that I'm running the 10250kV motor either.....

The upside to all of this is learning very fine throttle control. No point and shoot. Anything more than a gentle caress of the trigger will cause it to loose traction and do doughnuts uncontrollably.

I love it! Its probably the most realistic driving vehicle I own. Maybe ill do a simple track this spring...

get my new atomic bb tomarrow i hope it makes a differance

atomic bb didt make al that much differance and wuth the stock battery my run time is about tem minutes

I am totally digging my truck out tonight when I get home. I can't take it anymore. :)

My micro t and blade msr live on my front R&L speakers of my AV system on display. Always ready to grab and entertain, and a cool conversation piece. I've had people go buy them just cause they saw mine. It's my nonchalant way of luring them into the hobby. :hehe:

I've gotten my wife and my father in law to get one and now like 6 more guys are wanting to get them started building my track tonight its going to be sweet ad i tryed a lipo in my truck its alot faster but it shuts it down:angry: i emailed losi about it and now I'm waiting to hear back from them. i guess its not really as slow as i think I'm just used to my revo lol not a very fair comparesion :hehe:
