I brought a TS-N4 chassis yesterday, it was a second hand unit, and I thought it would be cheap enough for me to learn on.

The car started first time once I figured out how to prime the engine. After it was started the smile on my face quickly disapeard, when I realized I didnt know how to turn it off. so I just unpluged the fuel from the carb. I dont know if this is the correct way or not. I expect the more exspensive cars might have some sort of cut off.

But I took the car out today. and occasionaly when i blimped the throttle the car would bog down and stall.

And other times it was totaly fine. The towards the end of the tank, the car would not start anymore. Could this be a glow plug problem.

Any advice would be brilliant.

Or anybody know of any books that could get me up to scratch.

Regards clay.

There is no cut-off button. You can either pinch the fuel line and it will speed up just prior to stalling because it's too lean, or you can plug the exhaust, flooding it out. Both work, but don't plan on starting the car again till it cools down.
Stopping the flywheel with your shoe, a dowel or a screwdriver is the preferred method since it doesn't affect the fuel flow in any way.

thanx, that is a great tutorial. so it would seem reading that, that its down to tuning rather than the glow plug. thank you.
