RC Driving Style
Hi all, apologies if this has already been covered. I want to upgrade my engine in my T-Maxx, I am going to go for the Picco P2 .21.

What I want to know is what will I need to upgrade on my truck to run this, at present everything is as Stock. I have a very limited budget. So bare essential's only please.

I have that engine also and the only thing I have upgraded is I put CVD's in the back everthing else is still stock. Have not broke anything else due to the upgrade.

cmb97, how much fuel have you ran through it?

I would at minumum suggest full cvd's (including center), take your diffs apart and shim them for minimal slop, get the RRP Steel FOC, forward primary (steel) and upper 2 speed (steel) for the trans. This will keep you running longer than stock. With stock, you will probably be tearing up all these parts most.

Can you recommend some good CVD's to put in please.

Also I am thinking of doing the FOC, would you recommned steel or aluminium gears for this, I am going with the robinson's.

I run rd-logics cvd's and they worked out really well. They aren't too expensive either.

Although, I just checked their site and they no longer sell the ones I bought. They sell an upgraded version with steering knuckles and enlarged bearings. Not a bad product, but a little on the pricey side for someone that only want's the old cvd's. RD Logics CVD Conversion

A friend of mine runs the dynamite ones, and he hasn't had any problems other than having a cvd pin fall out. Just make sure to have a rebuild kit or two in your stash of parts.

As for the FOC, it depends on what you do. If your just a basher, go steel. It's heavier, so it takes a little more time to spool up to speed, but it's more durable.
