I dont think that would work with my wife lol she would know what I really had in mind lol

very good idea though hehe I tired that with a real car hey honey you really do need a 300 hp 2005 mustang then I can borrow it on the weekends hehe

For MY 40th birthday I bought my 31 year old wife a Volvo C70 Convertible. Go figure. And by buying that car it kicked my 2001 killer Tahoe out of the garage. Had to store my 2004 Rubicon somewhere!

Anyhow, back on subject, I am dying to see what the T-Maxx does, stock, next to my stock Revo. I have a new set of Hurricane wheels and Sporttraxx tires waiting for a test, but with all this rain, it might be until next weekend before I get a real test. I plan to go to the desert then so plenty of sand for test.

Just wanted to mention that I used Plasti-Dip on all of my servos, and it really works great for the snow. earlier in this thread Cobra posted instructions and the stuff is amazing. Home depot doesn't carry it though and make sure you have proper ventilation. I kept seeing purple dragons and stuff.

herbieace:

Was that the spray on Plasti-dip? There is a thread going on in the 'body shop' forum talking about using the Plasti-dip spray to mask a body for painting.

Is there a link for the thread about covering the servos in Plasti-dip?

See page #1, message #11 of this thread for the link.

Mr T

I dipped it just like in the earlier post. I swear this stuff is the coolest thisng ever. I'm like going nuts dipping everything in plasti-dip.

OK, saw it. Guess I missed my first time reading through this thread.

Hey Guys,
I bought a dynamite race guard (failsafe) on e-bay and the seller didn't include any instructions. It would seem to only make sense that is goes between the receiver and the battery, but I wanted to make sure. Also, I have no idea how to set it. THere is one little button on it and an LED. Any information you could provide would be very helpful.

Actually, FS's are made to go between the throttle servo and the receiver. They only control the throttle servo, so they can set the brakes.

Here's a link to it at dynamites site: http://www.dynamiterc.com/Products/Detail.aspx?ProductID=DYN2550

It looks like the setup is like my OFNA micro saver. Plug it inline with the throttle servo, turn everything on, put the throttle with the remote where you would want it to go, then press the button. On the OFNA one, I have to hold the button for a few seconds. To test it, leave everything on, then shut off the transmitter. If the servo moves to where you had it before, then it's good.

I pressed my button while mildly applying the brakes. Not full brakes, just enough to slow the truck down. In most cases, mine kicks in because I go out of radio range.

I checked with OFNA and thiers monitors the receiver pack as well. When it gets down around 4v's it kicks in. To find out that kind of info on the dynamite one, I'd email them directly.

Christmas T-Maxx getting a little customized

E-Bay is great. Since the last photo I have added aluminium bumpers and skid plates. I also got a new receiver box and cut a hole in it so I can see my new failsafe ( I am working on a water-tight window ((probably just a clearballoon)). I re-did the fuel lines and added a fliter. I also did the plasti dip on the servos.
I got a dodge durango body (just like my real car) and I need to get new body mounts for the rear. Anyone have a suggestion on that one? I want something that will work for truck and SUV bodies. Do they make anything like that? I also need an education in body painting. I want to make my t-maxx look exactly like my real car.

Duh, I just saw the earlier post on longer body mounts.

Dang! that thing is till spotless!! Looks like ur maxx is coming along nicely.

As for body mounts, id go for RPM. Their thicker, and like all their products, guaranteed for life. You can't beat that! They should work fine for an SUV body.

Thanks CObra
I was looking at E-Bay for some body mounts, but it looked like I would have to get new shock towers for the RPM mounts. Is that true?
Also, can anyone name a good resource for learning how to paint my durango body? I am pretty bad with art stuff, but I am not doing anyting too fancy. Do I need an airbrush? or will spray paint work?

Hey guys,
I got a chance to tear it up in the snow and I gotta say that the waterproofing seemes to have worked. I know it looks clean again, but I really cleaned it off good after the snow running. I wanted to show you guys my rx box set-up. I cut a window in the box and put the rx and failsafe in a baloon. The light from the failsafe still shines through though. I am still looking for advice on where to get body painting information if anyone has any suggestions.

What do you need to know about body painting?

You don't need an air brush. They make paint for RC bodies in the spray can. Ask about it at you LHS. I'm sure they will help you out. Since you don't want anything fancy, wash, and dry the inside, spray a little windex on the inside, and put your window masks. Then paint it on the inside, take off the masks, and the film on the outside, cut it out, and put the decals on the outside.

hey guys, I could use a little help. I've read through a buch of the threads, and I know this has been answered a bunch of times, but I need to ask it myself to get it straight.

I was running today and I have been having a tough time keeping my maxx running at idle. I have plenty of punch off the line (i actually flipped it backwards froma standstill once), and I can run and run as long as I keep giving it gas. If I let it set for more than 7 or 8 seconds at a standstill it cuts out. Today I tried to get back to factory settings to start over, but I still have the same problem. I am also running a max temp of about 237 which i know is way too hot.

Also, my fun ended today when I flipped pretty hard and my throttle servo stopped responding. It looks like my failsafe kicked in, but the batteries aren't low, and the steering is still really responsive. I know you guys must get tired of answering the same fng questions, but I am not looking for amazing performace, I just want to be able to bash around and keep it running reliable.

A few reference points for you.
temp today about 43
i have the acncm giant head
20% nitro fuel
idle seems to be correct gap, and if i mess with it, it rev's up and I can't shift into reverse.

I really appreciate the help guys.

Umm... 237 isn't that hot unless it's 20 degrees outside. Even then, it's not that bad.

Does it rev and die, or get gurgly and die when you let it sit running at idle?

Could also be a sign of your clutchbell bearings going out or running dry on you.

My 2.5 ran 250-275ish. Don't have that problem anymore. I sold it.

Damn! Sold it befor I had a new engine. That was kind of stupid!
