New Challenger anyone???

To me classic means long and lean. These are looking a lot like the mustang...I guess that's where the money is today. It won't be long until you see one of these cruising with a 6" 1000 watt stereo amplified muffler hanging out the back!

It'll probably be more like this---

I had a car like that. A 1989 Dodge Omni, it had a four banger with a 5 speed and was pretty dam fast..It could get rubber in 1st 2nd and 3rd every time!

Give the side-by-side on CNN, I have to vote for the Challenger. I am a long-time Camaro fan, but haven't liked the last 2 generations at all. And this one doesn't do anything for me. It looks like a reworked Caddy. The nose is too long. The tail is too short and thin. Doesn't look like a muscle car. The Challenger looks so much like the '70 Challenger that it's spooky. And I'm sure the 6.1 liter V8 will haul that thing around on the edge of insanity...

I also have to go with the Challenger. I like the Camaro, but the grill looks like they stole it off of a Neon or something. The Challenger just looks like a classic! Wonder if either will be supercharged?? :jester:

I can remember when one of the chicks from "Charlies Angels" drove a Pinto, a red one I think!

Honestly? Camaro? Challenger? Mustang? Friggin' chumps next to this ride!

Oh man!
The Ford Pinto!
They used to explode when hit in the rear.
The gas tank was right under the rear bumper.

that camara looks like crap compared to the challenger. I agree with Candyman, the similarities are definately spooky. The Challenger has that edgy aggressive look but the quarters have that soft vertical curve that gives it that wide muscle look.... very nice. Now if only DC will pony up and offer a standard... that was the only thing that kept us from trading for a Charger.

I really like the looks of this...I like this over the challenger, I've never been a huge fan of classical cars.

Mine Omni had the "Power / Fuel Mileage" lever next to the driver seat...Sweet!

I also had a pinto, Used it to change water on the farm when I was a kid. Blew the head off the engine trying to pull start it with my pickup. (Now thats a loud BANG)

Ditto Imbroken,
They did teh same with the Charger, saw a few prototype designs that didn't look too bad,,then look at what actually hit the floor, sad it was, is all I can say.

Being the owner of a 68 Charger, and an ex-owner of a 72 Challenger, I really like the new prototype/conception Challenger body lines and grill,(and that is a real strong reach for me as I hate new vehicles in general),, as they are very close to the original styling, but, like you said, I also don't think it will actually be anywhere close to what we see now when it hits the market.
