its connected to small wires that branch from the battery + and -, are those the ones that are supposed to be for the power switch? would think that would just short...

I cut the on/off switches off all my mambas and sidewinders and solder the leads together first thing. No point on having one especially if you have a BEC.

Yeah it looks like it is. I'm with abadk9 on this, take it off and just wire the two wires together.

Sounds like everythings finally coming together, congrats! That chrome piant is real nice, make sure you back it properly though, I've seen alot of people use it and not back it right and it just turns out to be a shiny silver, back it right and it will be a fully mirrored chrome coler.

got my steering done i do believe, as long as the new arm doesn't throw stuff out of "whack" ....... who comes up with these sayings? out of whack? what does that actually mean?

Looking good, does that steering set up turn both wheels equally? Not sure how you back the chrome paint, Lloyd will have to help you there...

its pretty close, i think its actually working out right, as Slow was pointing out the ackerman angle actually seems to be pretty good.

its steel rod, i threaded the ends on the long one and wasn't sure how far to thread on the short one so I did the whole thing..lol If it bends I'll make one thats just threaded on the ends.

Need to trim the servo mount plate to cut the excess off, less to catch on rocks.

i think I'm going to skip the fancy paint and get a set of boss claws to put on later, once I've got some miles on my current tires.

Yeah I here the Boss Claws work really well once you get the foam set up right, but it is that way with most tires, personally I think the white rovers are about the most forgiving and a great tire to start with, they also work well in most conditions and on most rock types. You will also really like the extra axle clearance that the larger tires will give you and be able to cover gaps between rocks that smaller tires can't get over.

Out of all the tires I've ran, I'm going to have to say as long as you keep them clean, the Boss Claws are the best and they come with great foams stock, no need to buy any other foams. Either way, BC, rovers, chisels, leapords, are all at the top when it comes to crawling tires.

I'm still going to run the tires I got from you just to get the "bugs" worked out, but I'm sure I'll want that extra clearance really quickly

What wheels are those? One thing you will need/want to get is some berg offset rims so your not so wide. Even the 0 offset plastic (glue ons) HPI's are good for the bergs and weigh nothing.....But Id recomend a quality rims though if you are gonna be hard on it at all.

Yeah those are for Axial Ax10 axles, your gonna have trouble getting through gates being that wide....

how wide do most run their rigs? its +/- 10 7/8 eyeballing it with a ruler across the top and being very tired...lol

usually between about 9.5 - 10.25" you would be amazed how much harder it is to get through gated is being that wide...Another thing with those wheels that i found out the hard way in a comp was that the hex on the wheels is not very deep and are easy to strip out, I spun the hex and went from 4WD to 3WD on a course, that sucked, LOL!!!

3wd could have its benefits if it was selectable...lol independent dig.... wonder how long till that comes out..... CRAP, need wheels.....havent even used these...lol

so it isnt the offset so much as the width of the wheels i have, they are a little over and inch wide if I remember, if I get a wheel with less offset, I'm going to loose ALOT of steering, so I need a narrower wheel, say .75" or so........ yay!

I know guys with Berg offset wheels that get plenty of steering and there wheels are 1" wide, Also if you go to the bigger tire we were telling you about in this thread they will probably be a little wider then the claws you are using now, but 1"-.75" wheels will work, there are different companies that have wheels with hubs you can get in different offsets so you can play around and get it how you want it, some guys run a narrower offset in the rear then in the front. makes it easier the A$$ end through the gate..
