New body for my Savage SS.

Painted by dopeakan.

Picked-up the body so I could get a close look at the techniques used in painting all the different effects.

Great looking colors. 2 Comments thought:

1. What kind of body is that, looks like something from the Jetsons?

2. The savage will run better without the cork in the exhaust deflector.

1. Hot Bodies Chevy SSR

2. Forgot to pull the plug before the pics. Keeps the goo off of whatever. I knew someone would point this out to me.

Damn man that is one nice looking SSR! How long did it take you to do that masterpiece? Very nice!!!! First one?

man that thing is sweet, so many different designs on that body, the flames, chrome, ripped metal effect, the carbon fiber... totally sweet. but how much $$$$?

I did not paint the lid. I wish I did but I bought it on ebay for $80. I liked the coloring and it had all the effects I am interested in learning how to paint. It is much easier to paint an effect if I have an actual reference piece to look at.

dopeakan sells on ebay only.

I have been looking at his auctions for awhile waiting for something I just had to have. Looks like all his auctions have an $80 reserve. Most of his bodies go for much more. I got lucky.

You're kidding me that there is a truck in real life like that?

That's a really clean looking lid. That would be a body that I would keep on a shelf for picture day only!
It was a comment, not a complaint. Get your facts straight there buddy. I did post a positive comment. The paint job is awesome.

Sweet lid, I have been watching his work for awhile too. Yeah, his bodies are pretty good & usually do sell for more than $80. I am still a novice in the painting department & am trying to upgrade my skills. I really need to go ahead a break down & buy a good airbrush. I am spraying everything w/ a $7 airbrush. Ahh, the joys of nitro on a budget.

Anyway, tight lid. You need to analyze his paint scheme & figure out which colors were sprayed first and then go from there.

Later....

Lid

Thats One Sweet Lid, nice job! I'm getting ready to paint my own lid have any suggestions?

The only suggestion I have is let dopekan do it for you! I suck at painting. You might want to rummage through the body shop forum to see what may be helpful there.

If it is your first, keep it simple. Get a sheet of thin clear plastic to practice on. You can turn it over to see if you like what you did.
