I was told the engine cracked. I think this is a Team Associated engine. There must be some kind of manufacturing defect.

Pretty common thing for an airplane to rip the cylinder off in a crash. But for a car it must have been hydrolock.
Agreed. The roto start is what really gives it away for me.
