I saw that on the early show. They read the ceo's apologies. Just hope its an easy no brainer transition...

Whoever came up with "Qwikster" as a name should be fired.

They should call it "the service formerly known as Netflix"...:hehe:

I dont use netflix that much, but when i do its pretty cool...my buddy gave his code so i dont have to pay for it :first_place:

Screw netflix... we will be canceling our service. I feel like it is the ol bait and switch going on here.

Tom

Their stock is tanking. Funny that this just came out as I just happened to cancel my Netflix subscription about 3-4 days ago. Really liked the service when I did use it, but just didn't use it that much lately.

Last spring I planned to sign up this fall, too busy in the summer to use it anyway. Glad I had to to think about it. I'll pass now.

I have not been able to even use Netflix for the last 5 years being overseas so thet streaming thing would be good for me IF the asshats would let me do it....but no. So they can go********themselves and crumble in around their our stupid mistakes.

I just don't understand why they had to mess with a good thing. Amy and I used the weekly DVD's as an excuse to have a "date" night and watch a movie after the kids went to bed. It was nice. The steaming was a bit underwhelming due to its lack of newer movies, but for kids shows... it was the best. We haven't had to buy a kids DVD in almost 2 years! I guess they run by the ol if it aint broke fix it.

That's pretty much the only thing I use it for now. Streaming selections sucks (although they claim they are broadening that quite a bit very soon), so it mainly get's used to entertain the kiddies. Kinda cool though, they are enjoying cartoons that I grew up on. Inspector Gadget, Heathcliff etc... Kinda neat to hear those jingles again :)

Right! My little girl loves scooby!

I got an email saying they will not make that change and it will remain the same as it is now....

Yeah.

When you are loosing more customers than you are gaining, you may be doing something wrong. LMAO!

CEO of Netflix = FAIL

At least he bit the bullet and back pedaled though.

Now if they would stream 1080 with 5 channel sound... then added all their current/new stuff online... Then I wouldn't need the discs anyway!

Is too hard to give up the picture and sound of blue-ray to do away with discs for me.

The thing that sucks for me now is that they closed a local USPS processing placed so now it takes two days to get and return movies instead of one...

Yeah it sux a lot of local USPS are closing all around the country. This country is going to hell in a handbag. Check out www.endofamerica4.com. The video is free to watch and is pretty long but very interesting.

Oh puh-leeeease...

This is a prime example of why we don't need big brother doing everything for us. Back in the day the federal postal service was a blessing there is no doubt, but once the private sector began to replicate the business it was all just a matter of time. It is my opinion that given ANY task, the private sector can and will do it more effectively than the fed. It's time for the fed to get out and let business handle it. This is the way it should be. We don't need the government to do everything for us all the time, but we do them to assist from time to time when necessary. Clearly, it is no longer necessary for them to deliver mail or at least parcel.
