I never stream anything. I get all mine in the mail and love it, wouldnt change a thing personally.

Check your account fee Lloyd. If you only do DVD's then you can pay less by dropping the streaming option.

My wife likes Netflix for movies and only gets DVD's 3 at a time. Under the new fee schedule she would have been paying $22 per month. I dropped the streaming option today after seeing what they were doing and now it's only $16.

I got that email today, the new prices start September first. We get one movie per week and the "new releases" are usually a month behind my local video store, I don't see a future with netflix.

I have the one DVD at a time + streaming, and never get the DVD's but I stream all the time. There is enough TV series, some newer movies, and old movies that I'll watch over again without having to keep up with the DVD that it's worth it for me. So from my perspective, it saves me $2 a month since I'll drop the DVD's altogether.

I can't even do streaming if I wanted too since I am in Korea...yeah they block me. Wait two weeks+ to get a DVD in the mail? Nope not doing that either....so I just don't watch movies much since I have been overseas. Oh well.....so right along with ya Rob...FU Nitwits...er..NetFlix

I'll be dropping the streaming for sure. Netflix for me was a HUGE money saver. My local movie rental place, Movie Land, was $3 per rental for ONE night. They just went out of business finally too.

I stream and get the single dvd. It sucks that they're raising their rates.

I dont pay for any tv at all and use the streaming. Plenty to watch on there for me. Netflix wont be going anywhere anytime soon expecially when they are only streaming which is the direction they are going. Watching a new movie means nothing to me so ill just wait til i can watch it without getting off of the couch.

And i think its funny how peoples cable or satellite bills are well over 100 bux and no one compains about that...

Matter of fact i just found out that AT&T has introduced a faster and less expensive version of their DSL here. With the speed I'm getting I'll actually be able to stream HD, although the SD version isn't bad at all.

Your download speed must be at least 5 mbps. It will then stream HD content automatically according to the FAQ's on the site.

I'm split on this one.

I think it's bullshit that Netflix is cranking their rates up. It's the typical BS that happens when a company gets popular.

That being said, I am a Streaming-only subscriber so it won't affect me. But I agree with what Rob and NCNitro have said. The streaming selection leaves a lot to be desired. They did just get the rights to another studio's movies so there are a few nice new ones available. But all in all there aren't a whole lot of newer movies available. You're really only going to be able to enjoy them if you get the DVD service.......which they'll charge you more for. See how nicely that works? I use it mainly to watch TV series that I can't find old episodes of anymore (I'm addicted to the UK version of Top Gear).

And my other bitch is that the only way I can get them in HD right now is if I use my XBox. Which means I also have to pay for XBox Gold which is another $50/year. Which, considering PSN and Wii networks are free, is Micro$oft's own load of bullshit, too.

I was a bit annoyed too, but really we just dropped down to 1 disc/blu-ray and our rates are the same. Originally we would hurry and watch the discs and send them back to sometimes get 4 movies in in a week... but for the past few months, we're lucky if we watch 2-3 in a month.

However, we do stream a ton now... in HD, to my phone, bedroom and living room. We watch tv shows that we had been interested in in the past.

A price hike is one thing, but this is nearly doubling. I don't find it BS that they are raising their prices, only the extremety of the boost.
