i just got my cousins t maxx and he said that everything runs, but when you try to go it just revs up like it wont shift into gear, does anyone know what this could be? I'm new to the r/c stuff :\

It could be a bunch of things. Make sure it isn't stuck between forward and reverse. That would be the metal rod that sticks out of the front bottom left of the tranny. It hooks to the servo that is upright on the front end. Make sure the slipper clutch isn't loose, too. That's the nut on the big gear by the engine.

I turned it from foward to reverse with the remote and it worked for the most part, but it kept getting caught on the shocks on the suspension. And should the big gear on the back of the transmission spin freely?

If you have reverse, it should spin in both directions freely when the engine isn't running. When you ditch reverse for a forward only conversion, it will only spin freely in one direction.

How was it getting caught on the shocks? Got a photo?

The rod that runs from the transmission to the servo sticks out too far past the servo and is getting caught on the shock but I think if I mount the shock in the other hole it will have enough clearance
