If the original length us 8.5", is that 8.5 inches from the circuit board? or 8.5 inches sticking out of the Receiver box itself?

Well to feed your hungry wonder, open the box up and see for yourself, I'm sayin 8.5 from the circuit but not sure

othere was ripped off and lost, or i would have measured

you never want to cut the wire on any radio. the length of the wire is "tuned" to the frequency the radio runs at.

max, if you can tell us what radio is it, maybe someone has one and can check theres.

I would say its 8.5 from the board. the "tune" doesn't care if part of the wire is inside the case.

Absolutely DO NOT cut the wire to the top of the tube. The antenna length is tuned to the receiver, you must find out what the stock length of the antenna wire is/was, and replace it with the same length and guage wire. The length will be the overall length from the pc board to the end of the wire.

Please HPI-Killer, when you are only guessing, and have no clue, please do not give advice that could cause someone to have a run away and damage or destroy their rig.

DO NOT post information that you are clueless about.
In the future, these types of posts that are incorrect, misleading or useless to a thread will be removed by the staff. A shot in the dark guess is NOT considered a useful post.
One thing we pride ourselves on, here at RCNT, is ACCURATE and totally correct information and a lot of it was learned the hard way through many years of experience.
If you don't have a clue, do NOT reply to the thread.

Not everybody at hobby shops know what they are talking about. That's why I come here for answers. If you are passing on second-hand info, at least say that you heard it elsewhere.

Thats exactly why I found this forum site they just werent providing the answers I was looking for but just making a sale, which I don't care because we all have bills, but 6-7 years ago Utah boomed with hobby shops and alot were smart as a whip on info I needed and now there is one within 50miles of my house.I due appologize for my first post and will do more research to help those in need.
