Hey guys, these servos have plastic mounting ears. I probably snap them almost every time I run. How can I prevent this! I'm sure there are plenty of ways... any ideas?!?!

Kevin

How are you snapping servo mount tabs? I've been into RC for over 2 years and never had a tab break.

I'd suspect a twisted chassis or something. There's definitely something more going on than just breaking servos, unless you're flipping it without the lid.

I suggest you put some spare shock pistons under/or over the tabs and run a longer screw through the mounts. Another thing you could do is get an aluminum mount and then mount it in different location (right next to the carb works amazing, but you have to get a different fuel tank and mount it in a different location, but its worth it). Or get an Ofna servo, or one that has fully enclosed tabs instead of spread open ears. Hope you get it worked out bud, good luck.

it also happend to me

but it seemed like the plastic was brittle for some reason or other. the fix i come up with was wraping the servo with plate of plastic that i epoxied on and drilled new mounting holes and it held well. since then i had changed the servos with stronger ones and put in allum. mounts and a roll cage - no troubles since. good luck
