I am new to nitro and plan to get a touring car soon but I wanted a 2nd opinion I want to get T Associated TC3 but I like the HPI RS4 as well. Any input would kick a@#.
Thanks Timmy:banana:

the banana rocks

I have the RS4 3 RTR, but I have had to do alot to it to get it where I wanted it. If you are thinking about the RS4 go with the RS4 3 SS. It already has the 2 speed tranny, big tube header, and adjustable turnbuckles, a two needle carb, and a much better engine, whereas the RTR version does not. They both are shaft driven and if you are gonna mostly use it for parking lot bashing and street use, this is a great feature! You will pick up small rocks and other debris that can and will strip out your belts, with the shaft drive no problem. I am quite happy with mine now but wish I had waited for the SS. Hope this helped.

DONT GET AN HPI!!!!!! Get the nitro tc3 kit. its a great car and it hauls @$$! This thing fly's like a missile. it may seem a little pricey but it will all pay u back in the end. Christian and i are very satisfied with ours. On top of that there are so many hardcore hopups for it. TRUST ME GET THE NTC3 KIT!!!~

yea i used to have one. until i sold it for my NTC3:) u need to hop up the rs4 to get it to racing conditions. the ntc3 comes ready to race in kit form. just put it together, drop in an engine and radio, and RACE!!!!

rtracenitro, it would help if knew what you were going to use it for. Are you gonna race it or mostly just bash with it? The HPI is a great basher car but like joolz said it takes a bit of work to make it a racer, but the shaft drive can not be beat for everyday bashing and parking lot racing.

Maybe I like my RS-4 because I bought it used with everything upgraded except the exhaust.

I am mostly going to scream through parking lots with it. Where I live the dirt thing is the way to go but I love touring cars. I drive a Civic. Thanks ALL.

Then I have to disagree with joOlz, GET AN HPI, the shaft drive RS4 3 or RS4 3 SS, unless you like replacing belts all the time, trust me you will be very happy with it.

There is plenty of aftermarket support and hop ups available for HPI too.

Have you concidered the Nitro TC3, which is the best buy for the buck they say. Allso, I have a hopped up Mugen MTX-2, that I chose to keep, over 2 Serpent Impulses that were sold, crossing the dark side and racing exclusivly offroad 1/10 scale. The car I find to be easy to setup for my driving style, and is balistic fast! NTC3 better on small track....I watch them in my rearview mirrors on larger track. I seen MTX-2 pro kit on sale $429 on line ...somewhere? Search Google.com Good luck!

Replace the "T-Maxx" with whatever vehicle you choose!

There's a quick but steep learning curve to driving Nitro R/C's. I broke more stuff in the first two weeks of driving my very first Nitro R/C (T-Maxx) than I have in the last YEAR of driving it.

Take it EASY at first...don't try any jumping at first. Practice braking, turning and braking, etc., gradually learn the limits of yourself and the machine. Do this in a wide open area! Not the street in front of your house. Curbs, mailboxes and parked (sometimes moving ones too) cars are the biggest offenders to newbie Nitro R/C drivers!

Don't try to show off with it until you've gotten the hang of it either...nothing like a brand new T-Maxx, just broken in, slamming into a mailbox and disentegrating before your eyes just because you had to show it off - major egg on your face.

I'm not saying to go out and drive like granny for weeks on end...just use a little common sense and get to know your machine before you start getting fancy with it. A T-Maxx in skilled hands is an amazing sight to see! A new T-Maxx wrapped around your mailbox is like - DOUBLE DOH!

I can't believe you, you of all people, actually cut and paste your reply to one thread and used it in another thread and on the very same day, in the same section of the board, and in such close proximity (time-wise) to the original post. I don't know why, but I find that almost Matts like and humorous....;)

Doh! Shoot me for the ONE time I go for a "time saver"!

:D

But, hey - it's VERY good information to know - eh?
