Hey guys,

I am looking to you guys for some advice and or ideas for how I should paint my first lid. I am point racing for the first time and I am looking for something cool so at least when I finish last I will look good! I am not looking for anything to complicated, as I am using rattle cans. I have three colors, Silver, Black, and Metalic Green. I know this probably sounds bogus but I was hoping to get a good combination of the three colors. Anyway I figured I would ask! Thanks guys.

Tom

For a first time paint job, with rattle cans, I would suggest a simple racing stripe job... You can make a single or double stripe from front to rear with (Blue) painters tape. You could then add a very thinn stripe to either side of the racing stripe. Kinda brings it to life.. With those colors, I would say...

Main Body - Metallic Green
Main Stripes - Silver
Stripe outline - Black or silver

Good luck..

ya i could do flames

i dont think i could do tribal flames yet

I like the idea of the dual pinstripes, but how would you get the thin outside line in place? I know exactly how to get the main pinstripes in place. I guess I could use an exato and cut a really thin line. Was just curious. Thanks I'mBroken! I appreciate your help. See ya.

If it is a road car, just use blue painters masking tape in two stripes down the middle. They are called rally stripes. Make sure you use the back of your fingernail and trace around the very edge of the tape to make sure it sticks/seals so you do not get any leakage under the tape.

Last Thursday I painted this one up. Used Pactra Teal (metallic) and Outlaw black for the roof and bed. Used their window masks and blue painters tape to mask off where I wanted it black.

tape out stripes.. paint one end black.. and go from heavy coverage to very light coverage as you move to the middle in the middle should be just a black haze be sure to fade it.. then pant silver over it.. then remove strips and paint green.. then back with whatever color suits prolly white or silver..

It would have to be the amazonian jungle bug
The G.I. venus pattern wouldn't look good with the silver
