i have the losi mega baja which seems to be half lst half lst2...i may be wrong

my questions are, can you guys hear yer truck shift (i dont have the high low trani option)I've went from 4 turns out to 6 turns out on the 2 screws and still can't hear it shift at all...question 2 is are they really this slow or is my truck messed up?

question 3 is where are some good places to buy parts...i usually run traxxas.... also are there any tips that you guys mite have for a new losi owner?

oh and it has the m26ss

Ok well try holding it high enough to keep the tires off the ground. give it slow throttle and increase slowly. YOu should hear it shift. If it isn't let us know.

when the 1st gear owb is bad will it seem like its not shifting because its starting in 2nd?....it seems real whiney and takes quit a bit of throttle to get it moving from a dead stop

ill put it on a block and try the slow throttle trick tomarrow...i did accelerate real slow and listen for the shift like i do with my jato but heard no shift

When the 1st gear owb is bad your won't be moving at all. You need to take out the 2nd gear clutch and inspect it. Make sure it can separate easily. Or there might be some grease in the 2nd gear hub making it slip.

it was the 2nd gear clutch

at first the threads of the screws were sticking the the clutch housing that didnt have threads (it made its own threads) i drilled the holes out a bit and ran it...it did shift 1 time when i lifted it off the ground but not again...now the screws are catching on the actual springs (that are all mangled looking)

so does anybody have a link to a new 2nd gear clutch or perhaps an upgraded one?

The springs on the newer shoes are made smaller at one end so they hold on to the bolt by the head and allow the bolt to slide through on the other end. I think the older ones were just small straight springs which had a tendency to deform and bind.

well i ordered a new clutch from liquid rc and a new 5 cell by dynamite...but i also fixxed the clutch in my truck now...went to ace hardware and bought a spring, cut it to fit and wala works like a charm...i just had to find the new shift tension because of the different spring...half turn at a time until i found it...much faster now that i have a 2nd gear
