Title says it all, have first gen Maxx, and recently blew the original .15 engine (about 15 gallons through it) so need a new one.
Not looking for one to go 80mph just a decent all around bashing one.
Any suggestions?

assuming you have stock drivetrain and transmission, i would get a trx 2.5, or an os rx or what ever they are called the trx2.5 is a very fast mill and wont eat your tranny gears up. Plus traxxas will give you half off the retail of the 2.5 if you send them the old trx.15

I got the .15 pro if your interested. Comes with easy start, and all that. Lemme know. ( I personallly wouldnt get the 2.5 engine, to hard to keep tuned)

I'm not very familiar with the .15 maxx but we have had great results with the sirio .18 in my past maxx and several forum members 2.5 maxxes. My question would be the throttle and break linkage setup.

I started out with the Gen 1 Tmaxx, and recently converted it to the 2.5. I put on the Pro Line low/wide suspension long time ago.
The conversion is a drop in. All you have to add is the throttle bell crank tower, and drill a hole for it. Look at any new Tmaxx in the LHS and you'll see how the throttle linkage hooks up. It's a very easy conversion.
I strongly recommend a better cooling head for the 2.5. That's the major problem with the engine. Tuning issues are no longer a problem with a good head.
I have the ACNCM head on mine, and it makes a world of difference compared to the stock head.

Definetly at least go for the 2.5. For more power than that get either the fantom or sirio .18. If you want even more power go for the picco/ofna/wasp .21 drop-in. The 2.5 will be a big step-up from the pro15. If you get any of these engines you should get the wider a-arms(RPM). With this much more power ur gonna need the stability.

I also have the Sirio .18.
Fast, powerfull, and easy to tune.

o man do a search. we just talked about this like last week.... like Woodie says "The search is ur friend"

Are you still selling the .15 engine with the ez start

Skipper, i have a 2.5 engine if you want it. It's not totally complete but if you're lookin to save a some dollars. So here's the story... My Maxx got ran over by a car so I decided to build an aftermarket Maxx. The head is shot and so is the exhaust manifold. It does however run and the EZ start works fine. I can't guarantee how great it runs but it does cuz I turned it over once after the accident to see. The engine/flywheel/bell/carb yadda yadda is all in straight up condition as far as I can tell. I don't have any plans on using it so basically it's just sitting there. I don't really know what what be a fair price for a questionable engine be so make me an offer.

Thanks for the replies, ill probably go with a trx 2.5. but first I'm going to get my RC10GT:buggy1:

This is rlouis12. Let me know if you are still selling to .15 with ez start, and the 2.5 with ez start. I am interested in both. You may email me at [email protected] and email me here

I have a Sirio .18 With the big bore pipe and love it! Would recomend for all around performance.

I would stay away from the 2.5. I love my T-maxx except the 2.5 engine. I am on the second piston and sleeve on my second gallon of fuel. It is a pain to tune. I actually spend more time trying to tune it then enjoying it. I am getting the sirio soon. I have read post after post and all have said great things about the sirio 18.

u still got the sirio for 185$ new if so how fast r u wanting to sell it ,,, pm me

I think youd be able to relocate your servo and get the other linkages. Do exactly the oppoiste of the 2.5 upgrade. My setup was for a rotary but then I had to move the servo closer and get a different linkage to convert it to a slide carb. Wouldnt be to hard if this would work.
