I'm looking to spend around 250, anyone have a suggestion on a model/brand that would be good for filming r/c vids with sound and taking good still pics? Needs to be redneck friendly as well!!!:hehe:

This is what I've been eyeballing myself Scrogg. 720p HD video, 10.0MP still shots, etc. Easy to use, and pocket sized. All for $149 here.

Keep in mind, that at that price point, if you're wanting a video camera to take still images, or vice versa, it will never be that great. But if it's a video camera you want first and foremost, and a camera second, I think you'd be fine.

Thanks, that's a good deal. Everything I have been looking at is very similar in specs. Price tag a bit higher though. I just want a camcorder that will take a nice clear vid. of a car in motion. I like Sanyo, owned quite a few of their products. None have ever given me trouble. I have a Sanyo 19" TV that's about 15 years old! Still works perfect.

Hey no problem Scrogg. I've had good luck out of them in all but their HD televisions. If your primary focus is video, check out the Casio Exilim series of cameras. Some of their compact's still have the 1000fps video mode that would be bad ass for RC vids, think SUPER slow mo action.

Here's a sample of what it can do (it can do regular video as well), I want one myself, as well as the other one I posted. :D

Edit: Here's the camera used to film the vid for $219

The Panasonic Lumix cameras are brilliant quality still cams, the Lumix TZ7 has high def video too. I have the TZ6 and it does a good job, the sound is especially good.
