look for some info is the Picco P3 Monster .28 Pullstart pn: P3-4935 a good reliable engine or is it one to avoid any info on this or similar spec would be good
 
Supposed to be one really nice engine. I've had one NIB for about 2 years waiting for one of my LRP's to die on me... I bought it for a price I could not pass up even though I didn't need it. I have since then gotten rid of one of the vehicles I'd put it in! lol Will be the longest lasting engine I ever owned!

Anyway, from all reports, vids, threads i've read, it's a good engine with really solid performance and a long life cycle. Well built internals, decent power band, more power than the LRP28S3's I currently run.

A mod'd one willl just flat out scream.

got my new engine its so tight that I can't get it to pass top dead centre with the pull start any help anyone could offer want to get it broken in and get to use it
 
Try using a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the head, then use the pull start. You might also want to loosen the glow plug a bit.
 
Sorry I should have said I tried heating it up and its like this with or without a glow plug in it

any thing else i can try
 
Getting the head temp up as close to 180F as you can will help immensely. Also, as hamz suggested, back your glowplug off 1/4 turn from tight. This will allow some compression to get out. However, your more than likely not fighting compression but rather mechanical fit.

Make sure you put a couple drops of after run oil down the glow plug hole before you try.

Try forcing it over by hand by twisting the flywheel, but don't get it over the top too far. If you have it just over TDC, then the inertia you get when you pull the starter will help get it over the top again.

If it's that tight, you really need to get it up to 200F. Should help.

When you say mechanical fit is this normal with picco my force .28 engine was tight but heating it for the first 1/2 gallon and my other small blocks started right away
 
I know some have a tendency to run tighter than others and stay tighter longer than others due to component quality.

I have a BIN picco 28 sitting in a box waiting for me to run it... Not looking forward to it's break-in.
 
at long last i got it running today had to heat it and turn it over with a socket set a couple of time to get it to move then tired again with the pull start and it then came to life

hope your give you a easier time of olds
