Build Thread My X1 CRT Build (Pic intensive)

What to do the other 8 weeks? Glad you are able to get out a little.

Thank you my friend. I know... the build went much faster than I had anticipated. I would like to enter the body into the contest, however I would be doing it with rattle cans and not an airbrush. I am still trying to figure out just what colors I should paint this thing. I don't we shall see. I am not sure exactly what I am going to do for the next 8 weeks ... lol I thought the build would have taken longer... but I guess since I had nothing but time it went much faster. I am guessing I have spent about 30 hours on it total on it. Maybe I will get another kit.... LOL Right... that is going to happen! I would definitely get it then. Well take care my friend... I still have to get a mill to put in it so I have a little left to do. Maybe I will resurect my plane! Talk to you soon.

Well guys,

I now have a completed truck. All that is left now is to tweak the settings and wait for a day warm enough to start the break in process. I can hardley wait. I also have to paint the lid, but that will be done soon as well. I am so excited guys. The guy at my LHS was joking with me telling me that it was just too much truck for me and I ought to give it to him! LOL You would think I just bought a Porshe or something, the way the folks in the shop just come over and drool over it. I mean it is cool and all, but they are making me feel like I am some sort of celebrity or something that I am most certainly not. LOL I guess it is the first time anyone there has seen the CRT in person. Just made me feel a bit weird, being the center of attention. Anyway... here are the latest pics....

Tom, I think the shock shaft scraper things (the lil red rubber short boots under the body) are supposed to be crap.......get a set of Mugen/Xray or Kyosho shock booties....OR do the ballon type....I didn't get the bag o ballons again cause I'm lazy...but that will save you alot of rebuilding......the spring cup at the bottom can collect crud and limit the shock travel....
But you have one mean rig there....run it ASAP after Veg-ass trip.....

Hey Plaid,

Yeah, I got as set of Ofna shock boots like the ones that come on the CR buggy. I just haven't had a chance to put them on yet. I have read that the scrappers are crap like you said. I hope the boots work better. I am now looking for some upgrade parts. CarolinasRc.com has some pretty nice hopups. I am going to get the Z brace and the rear skid plate. Thanks for the help my friend. I hope to get that thing fired up as soon as I can. I am still feeling Vegas!

Thanks dude. I hope it lives up to all the hype I have read about it. As long as it runs reliably and holds together and I am having fun, I should be ok. I did alot of reading before I ended up shelling out the dough, so hopefully it will all pay off with a couple of wins this year. Take care my friend.

Nay... not lucky. I had to break my leg to get one! Litterally! I don't think the fiance would have gone for it had I not been sitting around the house board to death. I am sure she would have approved the purchase anyway, but with the broken leg, I had no resistance. Thanks for the nice words however. Nobody has ever said anything like that about anything I have ever owned! LOL Thanks man.

Hey Robriguez I would love to get that thing dirty, but there are still a few things holding me back. First, I can't even lift the truck or any of the support equipment while I am still on crutches. Second, the temp here is still well below 50, and there is almost a foot of snow still on the ground here from the weekend storm. Trust me, as soon as I am able, I will get this truck dirty.
