Hey Guys,

I am back from Italy, and back to work... Damn. 8 days was just not long enough. It was amazing over there. It so wild. We have Plantations over here that are what 200 years old? We talk about history like that. Over there, everything is like thousands of years old. It was mind blowing. Hardcore Catholics over there too. I asked my girlfriend to marry me over there, in which she said yes. Now we have a wedding to plan. Pictures are forthcoming and I just want to say I missed being able to log on and chat with all of you. It's good to be back.

Tom Welcome back.....
did you try any of the fine wine?
the cuisine?
the whores?
oooops wrong type of vacation.....did ya visit any hobby shops w/ the lil lady.....lol

Sounds like you had a good time, looking forward to the pics.

Congrats on the engagement

Dude,

The wine was fantasitc! Sweet at the start and a nice strong finish. Cheap as hell too. It was 5 Euro for a Coke Light (Diet Coke), and 3 Euro for a bottle of Cab 1999 vintage. Crazy.... The food was also just as unbelievable. I will never eat pizza or spagetti the same way again. They also treated you like family over there. It is almost a shame I have to come back to the bad service you get in an America resturaunt. At least you get free refills over here. The whores... well lets just say it would not have been hard to find over there. Hell at night you can turn on the porn on regular TV over there. No pay per view. They are not modest when it comes to nudity over there. Posters hanging on lamp posts talking about clubs with naked girls all over them. Even there adds for personaly Hygene products featured nude women.
All in all a great time. It would have been perfect had the airline not lost our damn luggage!

its a great place i implure any1 to go just once (usually once turns into more).

just dont take her to venezia (venice) during summer. if u went there, then u now know y all commercials using venice as a romantic backdrop are filmed in b/w.

glad u enjoy, some funds have been keepin me from goin back and hangin w/my friends. i hate it....last time i went they were still usin lire and the y2k conversations had just started.

Oh.... as far as the hobby shops I didn't really find any. There were a couple of Diecast shops and they had some trains and such, but I couldn't find any RC shops. She was cool about going in to those though. If I had of found one I would have dragged her in! She is cool about since our talk. I hope it continues.

My grand parents, both my mothers parents and my fathers parents were the first generation americans from Italy.
My last name is the same as a town in southern Italy. I would love to go some time to check it out.
I will have to wait a long time for the kids to get older before I can take a trip like that.
I would have to stay a few weeks to enjoy the sites.
I hope you will post pics.
Welcome home.

Sounds like you had a good time. Italy is one of the many places on my "Places I would love to visit..." list.

Now on with the pics!! Congrats on the engagement.

Thanks man. It is nice to be back. 8 days was definitely not enough considering you loose a day on the flighy over there. We didn't get any farther south than Rome, but I would love to get a chance to go back and go a lot farther south. I will post pic as soon as I get them all downloaded. The base for the camera was in the bags that were lost until yesterday evening so I am a bit behind.

Dude It is something I totally recommend to anyone. Travel the world it definitely opened my eyes, and broadend my horizons... Man the world is a big place..... I can't wait to go back. Not very kid friendly though..... so yes it would be a good idea to wait until your children have grown a bit. I would have loved to take my 4 year old but was a good idea that I didn't. You have to walk everywhere, and the traffic there is a nightmare... they all drive little go cart looking cars or scooters... The sidewalks are small and you spend most of your time trying not to get hit. A stroller would complicate things expnentially. I tell you haven't seen funny until you see a guy in a three piece or a woman in a skirt flying by you on a scooter!

Tom

well you might see it here soonif gas prices keep climbing to match Europes.....try holland...they have Bicycle cars.....little recumbent bikes w/ dome windshields and the triple bikes (I guess that's like a family car).....
and Ratzo
I am an ass .....but a smart one...lol

Glad you had a good time. Traveling is always a good thing. Most Americans have no clue what the rest of the world has to offer. Our history here of 200-300 years is like a infant as compared to the rest of the world. Its good you got to see parts of Europe. I have traveled to many places in this world but have managed to miss central Europe. Maybe someday. Till then I will have to hang out and wait for you to post your pics.

YOU ASKED HER TO DO WHAT!?!?!
It must have been the wine...

Thanks man..

It took about 2 weeks of talking through things for us to really talk about what we both wanted out of life. She now understands that everyone needs their release and that mine happens to be with RC cars. I also understand that I will not be able to spend as much time doing it as I would like, but that there is a way to find a happy medium. I think she is just afraid that the RC stuff would come before my family and my responsiblities. Which I would never jepardize something that wonderful for a day out running RC's.... well maybe sometimes! :) But seriously, we talked long and hard about what we were getting ourselves into and we both came to the same conclusion. We both want each other and except each other for who they are. It didn't hurt that in a conversation last week with her brother about marrage, he stated that you can't give up what you like to do for anything or you will be miserable.... man talk about a feather in my cap! So we will just keep communicating and see how it goes. I got a 50 50 chance right?

Tom

50/50 chance yeah,if she understands now you should be good, you've got a 95/5 chance that your gonna loose your goods so HA to you,j/k(not really)

Wich is more important, your meat and two vege,or your r/c's?

Just think long and hard, but remeber, having a sex change would be cheaper if you kept your r/c's and made her a plaque
