Track is looking pretty good. And wow someone with a track in Maryland.

If you want a bashing buddy I live in Pasadena, up by Glen Burnie. Where abouts are you located? I have a Slayer and a 4yr old son that likes to play in dirt :p:

mate that looks pretty good to me....... i just wish i had the land to make my own track..................... pretty smick to have your own track no matter how big or small.. awesome man

Thanks guys. It is a work in progress for sure. I would be lying if I told you I was not just a bit excited about finishing it. Like Grudge said... I am sure it will evolve the more I run on it. Thankfully my Father in Law has a bobcat that is available for moving jumps around... makes life alot easier. I didn't get a chance to work on it all weekend between the rain and Easter, the time just didn't make itself available.

Thanks for the Info Bubba... Pipe is expensive.

I live in Southern Maryland near Solomon's Island and the PAX River Naval Air Station.

LOL Darn, that is a little bit of a drive for me, but not undo able. If you ever plan on having a RCNT event let me know and ill be sure to come down:D

I just got word they made a track at middleriver hobbies. I'm gonna go see if they have a website ;)

Nice land dude! I wish I was aloud to make my track on a level place, my dad gave me the side of a hill. SO everything in lopsided:(

I'm making my own track in VA but since i live in Maryland I may have to take a trip to this track

sweet looking track...id be way excited if i were you too...i might have to convince my parents to let me goto their farm and make me a track also haha....but back to yours, i like how it is placed out, looks like thats going to be a very fast paced track

I really like the couple wide turns Tom. We see soooo much technical stuff in r/c tracks. It's nice to see an emphasis on high speed handling there.

I'm new here to the forum but saw this post and had to post. I live in the Sourthen Maryland area (Lusby). If you need some help let me know I will be more then happy to give you a hand with the track. As long as I can run a couple of laps :D Now that Doug's Raceway is closed there is nowhere close by to run at

Just somthing i have been thinking about, maybe some jumps out of like wood or somthing, so they can be moved, cuz you will probably get tired of running the exact same lines pretty quick, and making mobile obstacles will keep it interesting.

We took all thread rod welded a washer on the end and staked down the pipe. Track looks great though

Great looking track bro! I know your pain. I'm building one here in Iraq that is so far turning out ok but since the ground turns to concrete after a rain or watering, I have to be very careful on how big I make the jumps and the spacing has been changed a few times already. I wish I could have gotten my hands on fleixible line like you have for a divider. I'm stuck with 20' sections of hard pipe and duct tape.....but it's still a heck of a lot better than the sandbags I started with. Keep updating us with pics and look on the bright side, six months from now, you'll still have a track. I get to pass mine off to the next guys here. But, I'll trade this track for my family again any day.

That was the goal.... I really wanted to get a dirt oval put in as well.. but it was a technical nightmare and with only one of me to do the work... I settled on the best of both worlds. I really enjoy rolling through the sweeper onto the straight. I enjoy the technical stuff too... but it is nice to have a little bit of A and B.

Very cool. That would probably be a very fun track to run 1/8 rally on... maybe a gravel section even... that would be fun too IMO.

I hear ya on the faimly thing. That has got to be hard. It is very cool that you have access to RC's to help pass the time though. Do you have places there to buy them, or do you have to have them shipped from home?

I was thinking about that... maybe building jumps like that.. but it got real expensive fast when you get into wood that would stand up to the elements well. To be honest with access to a Bobcat and free dirt... I figure it wouldn't take to long to add or remove a jump. Great idea though!

The track looks great Tom, I wish my boss would let me build one.

Wooo Hooo, 1,230 miles, about 19 hours 43 mins and I'll be there :hehe:

Pete I would make a friendly wager that you would never come this far north.... but then again.... if you did, I would still loose! :D

Actually the boss is just happy there is now less grass to cut!

I have access to that too!

Well guys... I will have to post some pictures.. but I finally finished the track yesterday afternoon. I was able to get the rest of the piping staked down and layed out. It really looks nice. I also spent some time fighting the grass and weeds that is a constant war. I still have some repair work to do to the track surface. It has rained so hard this spring that I have alot of runoff and surface repair that needs to be done. I will use the bobcat to bring in the clay and then rake it out and pack it. Hopefully this week. This is alot of work and was telling the wife it would be nice to actually use the track more instead of working on it all the time. If anything is has been a labor of love! LOL Hopefully get some pictures and post tonight.

Tom
