My track progress

Hey Guys,

Just an update to the track progress....

I have most of the pre season work completed as well as most of the corregated pipe in place. It costs about 85 bucks per 200ft. Just a few hundred feet left. I spread pramitol over the track surface last night in preperation of the rain that never came today. Hopefully it will rain soon to wash it into the ground. Pramitol is a herbicide that kills everything and prevents any vegitation from growing for a year or more. Hopefully it works! It cost $75 bucks for 25 LBS. I still am not 100% convinced the jumps are placed correctly... I have a triple set up that I am not sure the spacing is correct. I hope to work on it some more this weekend... but with it being Easter, I am not sure I will have time. I will take and post some pictures this weekend. I just wanted to update everyone that cares... LOL! This has been alot of work. It may not be perfect... but for having no experience, and doing it on my own, I think I did a pretty good job.

Man, Id love to have you guys down! The wife vetoed the kegorator, but I have a tub and pleanty of ice! LOL

It is not the best looking track, and the lanes are only 7ft wide... but I hope to have some fun this spring and summer. Especially since my LHS went out of business which was also my local track.

Hay Tom I just built a track last Sept 08 . Save that last 150' of pipe and let your track evolve. Belive me it will change for the better but you do not want to custom cut up all that pipe yet. Use your track for a good 2 or 3 months first.

Thanks for the advice Bubba... I will see how things work out. I am sure that I did not perfect it on my first try... I am sure things will change! I am sure the jump layout especially. What can I say... I'm a rookie.

Tom Your track looks good nice and wide. I wish i had all that land . To help you out a little more from looking at the pictures . You can just use one piece of coragated pipe were you have two side by side and make a oval loop at the end . This will save you from wasting pipe . Also I fill my pipe with dirt so it does not move so eazy.

Could you just pound a few stakes through the pipe to hold it in place along with a little dirt or sand? Reason I am asking is I had thought of doing it.

i think where you have the pipe running side by side with the loop at the end you could cut that and make just one pipe running down then you have more pipe to put else where nice start man look fun
