Well guys I have been on a quest to make some Titanium parts for my savage. I think I have managed to get one of them almost done. Notice in these pictures that I am not completely done drilling and cleaning this piece up all the way just wanted to post some progress. I think it is coming along quite nicely. Newayz here they are, I think it is alright if you ask me. Special thanks to Zandor22 and itsmesag1 for all their help.

That's pretty cool. I see your using a drill press to make a faux cut... what are you using to cut between the holes?

I didn't realize how thick that stuff was.

Ummm Faux cut??? The TI is .160 thick or 4.1mm it's nice and beefy. I just began cutting my first TVP. We will see how it turns out. If you are talking about all of the smaller cuts I am using a combination on my dremel with the cutoff wheel and a tungsten carbide cutting bit. It is no problem for the TI.

i can't wait to see the finished product..keep us posted on your progress.

Ehhh the damn details are killing me. It will turn out alright I have two of the center holes in the mount pretty much done but I am going through cutoff wheels like no tomorrow for sure. I should be done with this piece tomorrow and on to the TVP. I have already begun cutting the piece of stock for the TVP. I have learned one thing with titanium at least buy hardcore's parts it's much worth it. I am committed to seeing this through as best I can and I will do it. I'll post some more pics tomorrow.

You using the reinforced cut off disks in your dremel or the thin flimsy ones? By the way, I don't think hardcore's stuff is nearly as thick as what your makeing.

I bought the reinforced cut off wheels and in a half hours time they were gone. The thing flimsy ones were just about as good. Honestly the reinforced ones made very little difference. I looked for specs on how thick the hardcore stuff is. Couldn't find anything to tell me what was what. OH well I like what I'm doing here honestly.

If nothing else, there won't be another one exactly like it. I just hope the end result justifies all the time and effort you've put into it.

How much was that titanium sheet and where did you get it? Just curious.
