Update!!!!

Ok, you guys asked for an update, well here it is.

Money has been a little tight with the holidays having passed, and having to move again, so time and toy money have been at a premium, but work still progresses, just slower, lol.

I got a set of Axial AX10 axles for Christmas from my boys, I got those built and I have started working on making the links which will be made of 1/4 inch solid aluminum rod drilled and tapped for the ends, no all thread here.

I have also done a bit or work on the interior. I have been working on the firewall and dash, as well as a back wall. It is all made from styrene with diamond plate styrene glued to it and the painted silver. The oh poop handle was a leftover piece of the tree from the axles. The steering wheel center is made from a servo horn and 1/4 styrene tube. I still need to make the wheel itself. The white part of the dash is still unfinished and will eventually be black.

I have also begun work on a windshield mounted light bar, the clod lights are just temporary until I finish it then I will be using a high lift light bar set.

While bored and broke one eveing I decided to mess around with some stuff I had laying around and made up some small scale bungee cords for it.

And finally I have saved the best for last! The most important thing I have been working on at the moment for it. A set of 2.2 5 hole aluminum beadlocks. My good friend and new forum sponsor Joe from www.eastendmachining.com have been working on these. They will have twelve screws holding the beadlock rings on to the rim, but the screw pattern is such that any Axial 6 hole rings will also work on them giving me many options when it comes to the rings. This is just the first proto-type wheel, they still need to be finished but man these are the sweetest rims! Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks Joe!!!! I can't wait to get the full set!

That's about it for now.

OMG, it is absolutely beautiful!! I'm about to acquire my 6th RC, and you had to raise the bar like this which means I can't buy my 7th RC, I'm gonna have to fabricate it myself! To be serious, the project is coming along great. As a fan of scale correct vehicles, this is my favorite one of all. Great job, Joe, and excellent job on the wheels too, the other Joe.

Joe-

this thing is coming along great. the bungee cords were a cool add on. do they actually stretch?

sweet! Am I good or what!

I need to get to work on my project. I'm REALLY lookin like a slacker now. This thing is really coming along Joe, very cool!

OH, WOW! That's what I say every time you post an update. What a flawless piece of work. It's beyond impressive. I'm waiting for the day that it makes the cover of an R/C mag.

That would be awesome if it were to happen, hell I would be happy just to have it in a magazine.

I was at East End Machining this morning, and Joe was working on the rims ,he had them in the cnc machine, I must say these things are looking great! he does some killer work!

I'm glad your happy with the wheel. We nailed it on the first time out. I finished up the machining this afternoon. Just need to polish and add the finishing touches now. The truck looks great! Keep it up I want to go crawling!!! lol

Joe, the wheels look awesome, I can't thank you enough for helping me come up with the exact rims I wanted for my tuber. You nailed it on the first shot, I just told ya what I wanted, and they just look amazing with the mudslinger tires! You rock man!

NC and JoeP, you guys did such an amazing job with that wheel. I couldn't have drawn up a more perfect wheel tire combination if I tried, no one could, much less actually put it to the CNC. Absolutely Beautiful, hope you're ready Joe, the orders are going to be pouring in. Baja custom rims, anyone??

Thats fing sweet NC, the interior is looking great! I love the wheels, they remind me of some that I had on an old Chevy pick up. I think they were called "Gamblers"

I had some 5 hole aluminum rims on my 90 Wrangler, thats what I modeled these after.

I have to design a beadlock ring for them now. I want to keep them fairly simple, and I plan to have Joe anno them red for me.

I had a set in the same pattern for my 68, that's why I like them so much. But I had them on wide ET streets in the back and narrow et streets in the front, I didn't know they would look that gud with off-road tires.

Hey Joe thanks a lot, you have been a big help getting me rolling. Just my way of saying thanks.

Charlie thanks for the compliments. We should be getting them on the site in a couple of weeks. Got a couple of jobs to clear out first. I've got a couple of variations of this wheel I want to make as well. Then just like you guessed it onto Baja wheels.:juggle:

Alright, I think I'll get a set when you get some made. NC has been a great friend of mine, and I appreciate you supporting our site so I look forward to being a customer.
