Well, after a long 6-1/2 months, I finally got to run my Savage today! It's the first time since installing several parts/upgrades.

It's nice to have servo that will actually turn the wheels! And with the stock steering servo moved to the throttle/brake position, the brakes were a bit much and needed to be backed off a bit.

The Fantom pipe sounds great and seems to be good so far, but it's still running a little rich on the low end and the shift point needs re-adjusted. I changed gearing which I'm sure is why the shift point is off.

I only ran 2 tanks of fuel, trying not to be too rough on it, but I did manage to put a few scuffs on the new body. I also found out real quick that I need to do some suspension/tire tuning to take advatage of the better steering.

All in all it was fun again, FINALLY!

Randy

Glad to hear that you got it going! I find that it's such a good stress reliever, and so relaxing to get out and burn some nitro and sling some dirt.

Nice lookin rig. Makes me really want another one. What all you have in it?

That's awesome Racer! I think I may try to get my T-Maxx out today in the snow. It's been a whiel since it's seen nitro.

Tmaxx stockers, aren't they?

Yep, those are stock T-Maxx wheels, got them cheap from our own Plaidfish a while back.

Go get that thing dirty. What do you think it is, a shelf queen?

Unfortunately and unintentionally that's what it's been for the last few months. The realtor said that all the men drool over it when she shows our house though :)
But it's a little dirty now, and the body is scuffed in couple of areas from going on it's lid!

What all you have in it?

Not much really. It's still has the original NS-25 engine with about 6 gal through it. I have added the HPI "Chubby Head", a Robinson Racing vented flywheel, Fantom Works steel tuned pipe, upgraded steering servo, HCR titanium roll bar(I needed a rollbar anyway and I found it cheap) and a locker in the rear end. That's it other than changing the color of the purple parts.

There are no other pipes that sound like the fantom steel pipes. Had one on my revo. Sounded like a pissed off bee! Be careful with it though... it retains heat much much longer than aluminum. I burned a fingerprint off almost every time I ran that stinking thing! You'd think I'd remember after the first... second... third... fourth... time.

Great looking rig! Makes me have savage envy.

Nice ride Racer.

Makes me want to get mine out and get it back on its feet. Been over a year and a half since I ran anything.
Mine had a pretty hard landing last time it was out. Battery box and spur gear.

Maybe I'll get it out before long and look at it.

i have an origanal 21bb and a s-25 ss. very proud to say the s-25 has about 15 gallons threw it and still pulls strong. i was looking for a reason to get a 4.6 then I saw the new xl with that rediculus powerhouse it comes with and have decided the s-25 will run good enough until that xl engine is avaliable without the rest of the truck!

nice truck racer,it should be just getting good and broke in.

Me too, only I have the F4.1 - just not enough power for my tastes.

well after tuning mine today (have been running rich because it's just been broken in) I must say the 4.6 in the X SS blew me away. I couldn't believe how it moved all that weight like it was nothing. Very powerful truck!
