Hi. I bought a savage about 7 months ago, and i just keep breaking the darn thing. I've spend about $1600 on my truck, but it just doesn't do anything i want. After the first tank i broke the disk brake hub and disk brake itself (it was worn away). After i installed an aluminum brake hub and homemade brakedisc (wich worked fine) and after a good 5 tank break in, i thouhgt the fun would begin (after 2 months). But then i fried my spur gear (got one made from titanium now) and after that was fixed i broke my crankcase. Now i got a picco .26 in it, and i drove it twice after my 5 tankfulls of brake in. When i wanted to lean out the carb, It ran almost perfectly. The next day, i wanted to drive my truck, wich is logical cause i didn't have the chance to bash with it for about 6 months cause of al the stuff that broke.
Well, the next day after i drove it, it didn't start. And my homemade disk brake is to thin to use.
So i have driven my savage about 3 times in 7 months now, and i'm getting a little pissed off (can i say pissed?). I'm 15 years old and i am running out of money to buy a double steel brake disk or whatever tomorrow is needed to keep the darn thing running. And i know why my engine doesn't starts, probably a bad needle setting. But i am trying to get that right for a week now, and still no results.
BAsically all i wanted to know is, what what your experiences where with your first rc-car. Is it normal that if you buy a 1600 $ toy that it doesn't works?
