Did you have to make any modifications to fit the rims/tires and what kind are they? I need to do the same thing to my Jato. Street running is going to seem boring....

You should just have to adjust gearing to compesate for the size difference. The ones he's running are Talons on Traxxas All-Stars, you can get the full set from a Nitro Stampede.

I have the same rear tires, didnt have to really do much for gearing ... i do have a 1 speed how ever mainly because on dirt .... 2 speed is useless.. you dont need it. So i swapped out for a 1 speed. and the truck is so much fun right now....
The talons do have some slip on dirt .. just need to be choppy on the throttle on the take off then once you have control you can go wide open.. i mean almost no matter what tires you use ... the jato will spin em.. its just alot of power for a RWD truck.
I just put the Badlands on my T4 and while the T4 is a bit lighter than the jato they are a great tire so far. Its proving a bit difficult to keep the fronts planted on the ground but they have great bite in loose and hardpack and theres no give on blacktop. Its now a wheelie machine!!
