I finally finished painting my new GT1 lid for my Maxx... It looked so cool on the Savage, I had to get it. I'll get better pics when the weather lets up... Here's a sneak peak...

It's my TMaxx with the stock (custom painted) Savage body. I liked the way the body looked, so I painted one up for my Maxx.
Thats the RCRaven Al. bumper. I think the only stock items on my truck, are the bumper mounts & receiver/battery boxes...lol

Thanks to NCNitro for inspiring me to get a brush a start shooting my own lids... It's been a blast so far...

Here's a few more mounted... The rain actually stopped for 5 seconds...lol

Excellent work, Broken! Is that chrome paint? I'd almost hate to take it out and get it dirty.

It's the Alclad II Chrome. There's some black shadowing behind the flames that's hard to see in the pics. The bed of the truck was painted with a carbon fiber effect. I'll try to get more pics...

That body sure looks nice witht the Chrome flames..How do you get the Carbon Fiber effect...

omg I'm broken...very nice job! Do you mind if I borrow one of your Techniques? I love how the Cutout part of the window makes it look like its rolled down! Very Creative! Two Thumbsup on this project!:thumbsup:

I'd love to take credit for the window idea, but I saw that awhile back in some R/C gallery.... I just took the extra step, & cut it out.
I was'nt real happy with the Transparent smoke on the windows, so I lightly misted it with fasblack to give it a better tint effect.

Thanks for the compliments guys, I can't wait to start another lid. I learn another "What not to do" after every lid...lol

:whack: Bitch Slap me would ya!?!?!? That is one of the more KICKASS bodies I have seen in a LOOOONG time! VERY, VERY (did I say VERY?) nice work bro!

I honestly am impressed! I trashed a body shooting the chrome. Going to try again here shortly lol

Thanks Christian...lol The chrome was'nt bad at all. Just make sure the area is really clean, and shoot in many light coats. Shooting chrome is definately a test of your patience...lol I'm used to shooting and mounting a body in the same day...lol The outcome is worth the wait though...:bling:

ImBroken, I like the lid. Did you get any pics to Mjime yet? We have to get this on FRC. Forgive me I don't know much about the chrome paint, but does the Alclad II Chrome work only on air brushes? Or is there a spray can version?

As pain in the ass as the Chrome can be, I wouldnt want to shoot it any other way. The right PSI, flow and mix is key to getting it right.

a BUNCH of light coats as well.

As soon as the humidity drops this week I will be shooting some chrome on a XXX-NT body thats been waiting patiently.

ImB, I really dig your color scheme. :breakdown
How thick is the HPI body? I need a new lid for my Maxx

Man that lid kicks @$$ dude!!!! I have to agree with Chris and say that is definatly one of the best looking paint jobs I have ever seen. Great color scheme and a top notch paint job!!!! Keep up the great work:thumbup:

I did'nt get any pics over to Mjime yet, I was waiting to get a few better shots when the weather was better. He could take the one I posted for now. The Alclad chrome doesn't come in a spray version. It can be applied with an airbrush or a modelers paintbrush.

This humidity is killing me... At least the damn rain finally stopped...lol I'm shooting Alclad II at about 22 psi with a med. nozzle. can't wait to see the XXXNT lid when it's done...

The Savage GT-1 body is probably twice as thick as the stock Maxx lid, but not as thick as these new Proline lids... I wouldn't suggest it for bashing...

Thanks TwiZtiD, and everyone else for the compliments. I can't wait to do a few more now...lol Again, thanks to NCNitro for helping a newbie painter out....

I might be up to the challenge... As long as you dont want anything out of control...lol I use mostly masks, and do some freehand shading. Let me know if your interested, I wouldn't charge much. I'd have to have it for a 2 week period though.
