I haven't seen the blue turnbuckles. Let me know where you saw them; I might order a set. The GPM 2 Stage air filter in silver came in and has been installed.

I only tried 4 shocks (I didn't try the other 4 after the headache of the first 4). 2 of the 4 had the "C" clips "pop". I couldn't get the clips back into the groove. I wasted the shock oil and have to buy more. I hope Team Blue Star will back their product.

I finally ran 1st tank through for break-in. I had problems with the engine surging and increasing RPMs after the first half tank. I hope this is a break-in/tune up problem and not a tank leaning problem.

I also installed a GPM Stage 2 air filter. The angle on the tube is 90 degrees which puts the filter into the slipper clutch Gear. Is there a tube that will work with this filter that is 45 degrees or will one of the cold air intake tubes work with this filter?

I found this "help" at the HPI forums.
If those adjustments don't help, it could possibly be an air leak. Check the carb body and backplate to make sure they are both tight. Many nitro experts apply high temperature silicone sealant to the neck of the carb, backplate, and carb fittings prior to starting the engine. Here are two good articles that explains how to prevent air leaks on nitro engines:

I am assuming that this is the Self leaning that some savage owners have reported. I did not experience any of these symptoms on my savage.

Asking if any of the others here did get the self leaning and if sealing the carb and back plates was a fix for it?
