I need to know where to go to invest in some decent painting equipment. Models of brushes and compressors, this doesn't have to be the top of the line stuff, but she wants something that will be reliable and with some practice will enable her to produce a nice finished product.

This is a good thing for me because, if she gets good at then it won't be so hard to convince her to allow me to expand my collection of R/C's.

Ok. 1 rule. She isn't allowed to paint better than the rest of us!!!! Hehehehe.

Actually, go to www.dixieart.com and you can find tons of affordable stuff. I use a Paasche VL dual action that I run off my standard 15 gal compressor. Not too expensive. Shouldn't be too hard to find some good budget stuff...

Echo Candyman.

I have the Paasche VL Set and I love it. Got it from Dixie Art. It's gone up only ninety five cents to $59.95 since I bought it. Free shipping.

Thanks for the replies everyone, I will be sure and go out and check out the prices for the brushes there and I might just try to a regular compressor and I can make it a dual purpose, (Truck cleaner and lid painter) I will tell her what you said Candyman.

Damn. Looks like I'm in trouble already. Think I better bust out my airbrush and put my money where my mouth is....

I use water based paint for everything except backing coats. I use two Paasche VLs and a noname single-action brush. Paasche VL seems to be the medium all around brush on the market. Very popular. Even freehand artists who have high-end Iwata brushes have Paasche VLs set up all over the place.

As far as an air source, you can use either propellent cans (buy a few) or a compressor with like a 2 gallon storage tank. I currently use a HUSKY QuietAir 2 Gallon compressor.
