  • Well after quite a few hours of pulling my hair out, here's my first paint job. I have mad respect for the people that paint there own bodies, cause it took lots of patience and time. Never again though, next time I'll be more than willing to drop $50 for a painted trimmed out lid. Dont get me wrong, I had fun but there was just too much time involved in it. So throw me out your opinions on it.

I think it looks great. The back is a little plain though good job!

Thanks, yeah the back is plain, just gotta find the right sticker. I still have some air holes and a glow plug igniter hole to cut. I think I feel another headache coming on lol.

looks good, how many hours did it take you? and at one time you had the jumbo swamp dogs? what happened to them?

You should SLAP a RCNT sticker on there. Or a Hatchet Man

It took about 10-12 hours total, and I traded the Swamp Dawgs for a roto-start, Dynamite 2000NiMH bat pack.

The RCNT is the plan. I have a guy making a bunch of these that I am gonna contribute to the site, but he is moving slow trying to do them in his spare time.

Good job. Just remember, the best paint job isn't always the hardest. And I agree, I think an RCNT sticker would be perfect on the back. Or as a banner across the top of the front windshield.

Thanks guys for all the feedback. Now I gotta fix my pullstart and get out there and bash this thing up. hehe

Painting is as easy as pushing a button but good painting is another story. Someday. maybe I'll even get good at it. I have thought about an airbrush setup but doubt the use would justify the cost. I see the colors available for airbrush are almost unlimited when you consider you can mix to get what you want. Spray sucks because there are very limited colors available.

Good job on your first paint job.

Ok time to hi-jack the thread.

LarryA brought up the cost. That's what keeps me from trying to paint too. I saw this air brush for modles in walmart for like $39. It was next to those little models car you glue together. Someone tell me what I already know and say it's not true. For $39, it's gotta be junk. right?

How do you like those paddles :D I got some for my 1/8 buggy and they kick ass. My friend always runs :ahh: when I drive my buggy at him because he knows he'll get dirty!! :ahh:

I use the paddles in the sand. They provide so much traction that I can still do wheelies on the beach. They kick up about a 3 to 4 foot rooster tail and if your driving away from yourself its hard to see where your going lol.:marshall:
