This last weekend I finally got around to installing the VXL brushless system in my son's Slash. I also tore it down and put some 50k fluid in the diff and switched to a 2s LiPo battery.
This is my first real experience with brushless and LiPo's. Those of you that know me, know I'm a die hard nitro guy but I've gotta say that this really showed me why some of you prefer the electrics. This thing was fast, fun and we ran at least 20 min on a single charge. The single best electric experience to date for me. Don't get me wrong,I'd still take a nitro over anything but there's good reason to have an electric like this in the stable too.

I did run in to 1 problem(sort of). When installing the system the instructions say to set the throttle trim to neutral, but to get it to work I had to turn the trim all way down(left on the knob). I'm just using a stock Traxxas TQ radio, isn't the center where the knob arrow lines up with the line on the radio supposed to be the neutral postion? Anyway, it works great now.

Here's a vid of my son driving it. He wanted to test the waterproof claim and run it in the spring snow :)

On your controller, is your throttle set to 50/50 or 70/30? If it's on 70/30, that may be why it needed to have such extreme endpoints. Glad you enjoyed the electrics too

Pick up a nice 3s pack and you will poop your self! lol.

It's pretty funny when my boys get the controller they do the same thing, they only know wide open there is no in betweeen. I know how you feel that is why I have both Nitro's and brushless rigs:)
