As i have earlier posted i have acquired an RC18-B from charlestheman, and have decided to make this thing, as i call it, The Pocket Rocket.

So far I have added a brushless Castle Creations 5400kv motor, with a sidewinder micro ESC, 14t pinion, 55t spur, Electrifly 1250mAh 3s 11.1 lipo battery. and modified a stock mini-t body with the carbon fiber style wing. I have the RC18-T shock towers on order, and will be going with another aftermarket body to be decided later. Running Proline Dirt Hawg tires on the back, and losi Smashers on the front, just until the proline onroad tires come in.

looks like a great project, i will be ding something similar with a Losi Mini LST2.

i might even use some RC18 parts if i can get them to fit right =]

great project my man!

Welcome to the brushless RC18 club, my man. I've got one with the Mamba 25 ESC in it; every time I turn it on, the cocker spaniel goes nuts.

Course, that dog also chases laser pointers.... Somethin just ain't right in that pooches head.

I'm glad to see that you're enjoying it. I would have loved to do something like that, but I've got a shelf full of projects and I just need to caught up on some stuff. That is the factory RC18B wing. He received it still with the factory shrink wrap on the body, brand new. I bought it from a member that took it out of the box and drove it under the couch. He was in a wheelchair, so it stayed under the couch and he didn't realize but the reason it shot under the couch was because the battery on the wheelchair interfered with the radio system. So the motor overheated under there and froze up. I bought it like that for a good deal. Two minutes of runtime in the living room, and he gave me a barnd new ESC. I set it on the shelf and bought a motor on ebay. It never arrived. I asked them to send another one, they said they did, it never arrived either. It was an $8 HPI motor we were talking about, so I went ahead and ordered a fireball and sold it to James. So he got a brand new RC18B with a brand new ESC and Fireball motor for a hell of a deal.

Gona have to get a decent camera eventually. When chip cross gets his up and running, ill post a vid of us running them together. We actually havethe same exact setup, except he's got a bug body.

2. aluminum front shock tower. once you land that thing inverted you'll see why. plastic=bad.

RPM Makes towers for the RC18T. I'm running them now, and at $9 a set they aren't something you'll lose sleep over if they are ever damaged.

I have already installed the super diff's front to back, and i have not had any problems with the stock towers, yet. With work picking up so much, i have not really had that much time to bash, so project is slowing down......
