I blame @WoodiE for getting me into building again. I am building a budget touring/drift car, using one body, and two different chassis, since i know using one chassis to drift and also to do touring/rally stuff is a pain. The body is a 2000 E46 BMW M3 that i picked up finished on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/193973572667?ViewItem=&item=193973572667 I also picked a full light kit, with headlights, turn signals, brake lights, reverse lights, and flashing fog lights from eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/No-Solder-...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 The drift chassis is a ZD Racing 10426 kit i picked up from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32973395129.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.72414c4d1CAI39 and the touring/rally chassis is an HSP 94123 (Flying Fish) chassis i also got from AliExpress: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001055879014.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.72414c4d1CAI39 So far, i have only received the ZD Racing chassis, the body, and the lights, so i have started on it a bit.

Chassis started. The motor i was going to use is too small for the motor mount, so i need to still pick up a couple 3650's. I am looking at 3000KV to 3300KV. One issue i found with the ZD Racing chassis is that the springs were compressed way too much, so, until i can source some better ones, i just stretched them, and then filled the shocks with Losi 30WT oil. The ESC is a WP-10SC-RTR out of my junk Exceed RC Mad Speed drift car. I was also planning on using the motor from that car, but it is a 380 size, and too small for the ZD Racing motor mount.

Finally "finished" so to speak. I ditched the original ESC i was going to use, and swapped to a Hobby Wing 10-BL-60, and paired it with a Surpass Hobby 3650 3300KV i got from eBay. The wheels and tires are a set i had laying around just for testing before i put the white ZD Racing multi-spoke wheels and touring tires i have on it. i will post pics of it with the white wheels. The servo is a 20KG metal geared cheapo i picked up on eBay. I got rid of the stock plastic hexes and picked up a set of aluminum ones with simulated slotted and drilled rotors. For the lights, it has working head lights, brake lights, reverse lights, working turn signals, and flashing fog lights. I havent ran it yet, but my plan is to try and get some time tomorrow and see what it does.

I can say is dope 👍🏾

Sweet ride, I'm betting the white spokes will really make it shine!
These are the wheels and tires that will be on it after all the testing and adjusting are done. Now i just need to find some blue lock nuts for the wheels.

You are well on the way I did see a set of blue lock nuts on Amazon recently

After finally getting a chance to run this, i learned that the tires i had on it dont like 3S, and that i need to regear it for 2S, since it wont even break the tires loose on 2S. Other than that, it seems to work really well. This is all using the ZD Racing chassis. I havent even built the HSP chassis yet. I ran it 3 or 4 times on 2S on a set of already used tires i had, with absolutely no issues. On 3S, the used tires didnt last 5 minutes, so, i put a set of Tamiya rally tires on it, and they lasted maybe half a battery, so i am still on the hunt for a set of tires that can withstand 3S power. I do have video of it on 2S, i just havent finished editing it yet. As soon as its done, i will post it. The car seems pretty durable, except i did crack the body sliding into a concrete light post base. The lights dont like to stay in their holders, especially at speed, but, none of them have quit yet.

On the chassis that you're gonna use for drifting why not just put regular hard drift tires on it? Just curious
Actually, because i changed my mind. I have a drift car i rarely, if ever use, so, now I'm using the ZD Racing chassis for touring/on-road, and i am going to use the HSP chassis for rally/light off-road stuff.

I was running 3S in an asphalt parking lot, and they didnt like the extra power, but it wasn't drifting. I could barely get it to power slide, even on 3S, because of how its geared.

The new road tires and wheels.
This pile of parts, which are the complete chassis for a Redcat Lightning/HSP Flying Fish, will hopefully be assembled soon, and then i am going to set it up for rally, and then use the ZD Racing chassis for on-road stuff, and just use the same body. I will be installing shielded bearings, as well as replacing the original dog bones with CVD axles.

I finally got around to making a video of this. A disclaimer though: the video is not linear. It is made up of clips taken from several videos i made, using a fixed camera on a tripod, as well as one on a head mount. Here is the video:

I finally got the blue wheel nuts, so here it is with the white wheels and blue lock nuts.
