My Brother totaled his car!!! (56k!!)

my brother totaled his prelude last night.. he got t-boned by a ford explorer.. he made it out ok but the car didnt.. i dont see how he didnt get hurt.. heres the pics so you can see what i mean.. it hit so hard the passanger door wont close now!!

i was the closest one to him (1 hour away) so i had to speed over there (made it in 30 min) to get him.. they wanted him to go to the hospital cause he was dizzy and blurry vision but he didnt wanna leave his car.. hes ok now but we only had liability insurance on the car so I'm not sure how thats gonna work.. he just started college (thats where he was coming from ) and needs a ride to class..

Get ahold of the police report asap. If it shows the other driver was at fault, then the other drivers insurance company should pay for a rental car while the claim is being settled. It wasn't wise for him not to go to the hospital. Often times when people are in accidents, they are in shock. Take him to a doctor immediately!!!. Also tell him NOT to sign anything from an insurance company too quickly.

Well was it his fault? if it wasn't you should be set, well at least get some money out of it. I'm amazed he got out of that unhurt, looks like it was a pretty bad crash.

First off I hope everybody is ok, that looks like a pretty nasty hit. Ofton times a person in an accident may feel fine at first but may show signs of pain and discomfort after a few days. I also suggest he get checked out just in case.

it was his fault.. he was at an intersection with 2 lanes that turn left.. he was in the right of those to lanes and his view was blocked by another vehicle.. the other vehicle started to go so my brother asumed it was safe to go also (big mistake) the other vehicle slamed on his brakes and my brother didnt have time to stop.. a ford explorer was going through the intersection (they didnt have a stop sign) and hit him.. then the other vehicle left the sceen and noone got his plate #.. hes ok right now.. my fiance is a nurse and is staying home with him just in case..

98 prelude.. its prolly totaled.. the whole car is tweeked.. the frame has to be bent..

Too bad about the liability issues. Good to hear he is not seriously hurt, but I would get a medical exam just to be safe.

Glad hes ok. Sounds like hes gonna learn a good lesson on this one. You can never have enough insurance. Always have yourself and property covered.

I have 2 car insurances(both not paid off so you have to have full coverage)
bussiness insurance, homeowners insurance(added hurricane protection) and it only cost me $300 a month. Piece of mind=Priceless.

I agree with Revo here, He should go and get a thorough check up. I was in a bad car accident 2 yrs ago. I thought I was fine at first and actully drove what was left of our car home, after all the police and ambulances left. I began to feel lots of pain so we went to the hospital. Things began to get sore every where. After many doc appoitments I found I had a messed up Disk in my Neck, ripped my rotary cup, and had destroyed a disk in my back. And I felt fine right after the accident so it would be a good idea to have him go in if he begans to feel any pain what so ever anywhere. I'm glad he was able to walk away. That looks like it was a nasty hit!!! I think your right about the car being totaled. Its probally a unibody and twisted it all to hell.

definately get checked out...a friend of mine got hit by a car skating one night and thought he was fine......we took him home and he died in his sleep.....ALWAYS get checked out after a bad hit......things happen you just can't tell until it's too late.....hope your brother is doing well....sucks he had to learn such an expensive lesson

Anyway, glad he isn't seriously injured. He must be a small guy as that door is pushed half way accross the seat! If my fat ass was in there, the jaws of life would have been needed!

he said he was afraid the car was gonna asplode!! he had never been in a bad wreck like that.. he had the car in park befor it quit sliding and was across the console, kicked the passanger door open and was out of the car and running befor the ford explorer stopped rolling.. its funny now, i can just see his scrawny ass jumping out and running away screaming like a little girl lol.. hes 6.2 and like 150 lbs maby!! he said the door hit his arm and leg.. it banged his knees together pretty hard.. he said his sholder and knees are sore but his dizzyness has went away and he feels better
