Traxxas T-maxx 2.5,,,, I just noticed that my antenna broke in the middle of the wire. I know that the length of the wire effects the signal, but what i dont know is whether i need to buy a new receiver or if i can take the reciever apart and replace the wire? Advise please

Are you using the stock Traxxas reciver? If you are I would just buy a new one. There are some aftermarket recievers that allow you to replace the antenna. I have heard of some folks soldering the two pieces of wire at the break, but I have never tried it. Let us know. Thanks

Tom

get a wire of the same guage and length and re-solder it.

These wires break all the time. Your LHS will carry a replacement wire that you solder back on the receiver. There's no reason to replace a receiver that hasn't gotten broken or wet.

I broke mine awhile back, funny what skidding on it's lid in gravel will do to an antenna. :hehe: Luckily it was only the last couple of inches so I haven't noticed a difference in performance.
