what kinds of outer foams fit over the mugen air filter assembly? I think someone said the Fioroni outer foam fits? (mine is junky and falling apart)

I have the Motor Saver one on mine, but I think the Fioroni one looks better.

i jsut got the cvd boots, do the long ones go in the middle and short ones go on back or front. thanxs

CVD boots? New one to me. Do you have a link to them? Are there two long ones, and four short ones? If so I'd say you have it right.

my exsperience with those little boots is they dont last and they trap dirt in and around your cvd, maybe they have been improved since then though, we do tend to run in some pretty crappy conditions over here

The boots work really well...still using the same set from my rebuild early in the summer. All are the same size, and fit nicely in the center and rear. Front takes a bit of work, and it not really worth it.. Will keep your CVAs clean and running well...no dirt and grit = no wearing down..

weve actually found the boots keep the dirt in not allowing it to escape and add more wear to your cvds

Do you use the entire Motor Saver filter or just the outer foam from it over your Mugen air filter assembly?

Mike,

If you put the boots on with dirt inside the CVD, it will certainly keep the dirt in, adding wear to your CVDs. If you clean and grease the CVDs prior to putting the boots on, it will keep them dirt-free...dirt will not pass in OR out.. :) These boots are a pretty solid fit for the center and rear CVDs..

Have you had bad experiences with these boots, or just CVD boots in general?

just cvd boots in general, tryed a few different brands and they all do the same thing, Maybe these ones will be different

Not sure which filter is on there at the moment, but I know it isn't a Motor Saver. I think it is the one that came with my Lightning Pro 2  but it may be the Mugen one. Originally it had the OS one that came with my VZB, but the fuel splash gaurd put a hole in the elbow so I had to change it.

I put on the new ofna(air filter) on mine. Works real well. I have yet to start my mugen dew to starterbox trouble. This is the prospec thread so....

Any one have a problem with a servo locking. When i hit the brakes the servo goes to full brake but will not automatically return. I have to push the throttle and it will unlock and move. It just does not self return.
Clues?

Also to add. How far if any do your guyss flywjeels hang out?

I think of this as the MBX5 / MBX5 prospec thread. I'm sure there is a normal MBX5 thread someplace on here, but then we'd be bumping two of them.

No when i say that i mean, that this is a all around buggy thread not specific to one problem.

well i didnt see any posts about pricing in here. I've decided to go ahead and get a third prospec just to start the pro series with a new one and i refuse to buy another one from my lhs. so where should i call and what will i pay? the best I've seen so far is 699 plus shipping.

flash, that's probably the cheapest you'll find. There is a place selling them for 709.95 free shipping. I like to get on my soap box and preach about supporting the LHS, but damn that's a lot of money. :(

I paid $699 for mine from Nitrohouse.com

About flush with the bottom of the chasis.

Wasn't this already discussed?

the flywheel should be tucked up away from the ground. most other flywheels (other than the x-5 or kyosho type) will hang out the bottom of the chassis. if it does, the first time you land flat off of a jump the engine will die. stick with the smaller diameter flywheels and stock height mounts and you should have no problems.

But the starter wheel can not get to the flywheel on mine.

I've heard of alot of people dremeling out the sides of the opening in the chasis a bit so the starter wheel will hit the flywheel, but I didn't have to do it on mine. :2cents:
