Team17 I am thinking of getting a MTX-3, how do you like yours? Likes dis-likes? Any help would be great. YOu find it easy to get parts? What is the weak spot of the kit? What did you replace upgrade first and why? Again I appreciate any help. Also I am thinking of getting the kit with the engine. Do you run the Mugen engine?

One more thing, this will be strictly from a racing point of view, as that are my plans this season. I wanna try my hand at some on-road.

I love mine. I dis-like the instruction manual and I would upgrade to the 4m chassis. The instructions are vague so if u have never built a kit before u can get confused and screw something up. The chassis 'cause it would be a little stronger but not necessary. The only weekness I find is the steering servo's location. If someone crashes into u at that spot, it can cause damage to it. overall the car comes ready to race and like most RC's u always need a hop-up here and there, but not something immediately. And yes I bought the kit w/engine MT12 from acehardwarehobbies.com. I haven't needed any parts yet. But my supplier would be nitrohouse.com. And I'm about to replace the exhaust pipe for better performance. Any other questions feel free.

Sweet now that we got our own thread here we go. Do you have a camera or pics of it with the top off? Is that a pretty healthy Rossi engine it comes with? I want something that I can race, but I want it kind of modest as to not have too much power before my skills are ready. Tune easy? I have never had a .12 are the finiky or just more of the same?

$560 seems like a killer deal. I was thinking of getting that RB one piece for it on ace, what do you think of that pipe?

they a pretty good vendor nitrohouse? they seem to have everything in stock. How old is this kit? Did it just come out recently like the MBX-5?

Is this kit in your opinion a "notch" up from a TC3?

I'm getting pics up tomorrow or Monday. The engine is very quick at 1.15 Hp 2.1cc at 36,500 Rpm with 11mm SG and of course it's a 3port and not difficult to tune. They had the best price that I could find, which is why i bought mine from them. I can't find the pipe ur asking about. Put up the link. When I spoke with Mugen they told me to get my parts from Nitrohouse that they had everything I would need. The kit came out about 8-10 months ago around. And I think it's a notch up from the TC3.

Have u check it out at www.mugenseiki.com

Was the kit complete, no missing parts?
Did all the parts fit well without having to mod them?
How good are the screws.
Are the bearings shielded or sealed, quality?

HB and I are looking at getting matching chassis. We are trying to decide between the 710 and the MTx-3.

you guys notice how the views got copied over from the 04 bash since this is where this thread got moved out of. like 3600 LMAO!

The only missing past was the front anti-roll bar which Mugen shipped after I called them. The parts and screws fit without a problem. The bearings comes in two sets to install in different parts of the car. But overall they are good quality bearings which down the line you'lll probrably want to upgrade.

I love my MTX-2. Never had a problem with the car or the MT12 engine it came with. I assume the MTX-3 is similar, but with just some subtle changes like the addition of the roll bars. Handles a lot better than my Reflex.

How long did it take to get your missing parts?

For now, I'm going to use my OS .12 TR I have it, I might as well use it. Any issues that you know of?

Hmm, I just remembered it doesn't have a slide carb. I may have to re-think my engine choice.

I recieved the part in 4days, not bad considering it came across the US. I suggest to get the kit w/engine. For the price it's a good deal.

That's what I was thinking. I like the idea Rossi .12. It is a tempting car, but I like the Serpents, just hearing some bad stuff about them and I don't know what to think. I really like the quality of the Mugen I have now though.

The MTX-2 is a solid car. They just made it better on a with the MTX-3. They took some of the ideas they used for the 1/8th MRX-3 and put it in the MTX-3.

Humboldt & Fasteddy- Have u decided on whether or not u want one yet?

I secured 2 kits, 1 for me and 1 for HB. We got the MTX-3 with the nova engine kit.(Thanks Jake www.jphracing.com)

I have started my buildup and have a few Qs.

For the shocks they included 600 wt oil. WTF is that in real life?

The front shock tower is CF, the shock mounting holes ar close together and each hole cuts into the next. Is this a bad part or are they made like this?

A couple of comments.
The kit is tight! all the parts so far have been a dream to work with as compared with other kits. The "bag hunt" isn't to bad once you figure out how to decipher the directions. The directions are 99% schematic but accurate.

I didn't appreciate the fact that that a 599.00 kit didn't include all the parts for both the front one way and the front dif. you have to choose what to use at the time you assemble the kit. It wouldn't be a price burden to have included everything for both.

I did like the fact that the kit included a pipe and header. I'm not sure how well they work but it will get me started without having to fork out more than the I already spent.

So far 2 thinks are needed that I don't have in my arsenal. (1) rubber cement for the brake pads, and (2) A set of snap ring pliers for the front 1 way. Also make sure you have some CA available to glue the guide onto the front one-way pulley.

I spent about 4 hours on it last night and got the front end all put together. Tonight I will start on attaching the pulleys and go from there.
