hello all, new to this but not so new to 1/8th buggies, have owned a hopped up hyper 7 that got stollen and a GS storm which i still own actually if anyone wants to buy it?
anyway, i've just bought an MP777 special 1 from ebay, mint condition, i've just bebuilt it and installed a RB S7 with RB 086 pipe, can't wait to run it but i'm waiting for radio gear, spektrum DSM with DX3 radio is on its way!
the reason for the thread is, are there any previous or current owners of the MP777 that have any advice about, weak parts, set up ideas and maintenance advice.
any help would be much appreciated

MP 777 special 1 front diff

can i run standard front diff oil or do i have to get special diff oil for the lsd?

thanks

shakeymp777

What it lsd?
I assume that it will take standar diff oil, the silicon kind is what most people use that you can get at your local hobby store in different weights, which I am sure you probably know about that...

TCD Diffs

yeah, i'm currently trying 10k front 7k center and 1k rear, the mp 777 and kanai 3 come with whats called a tcd (traction control diff) which is effectivley a limited slip diff like you'd find in a real race car.

the manual shows it uses tcd fluid, just but don't know if i can use standard diff oils??????????

There are certain rules about selling and trading on this site.
Please take a look at the [rules]------[/rules].

Thank you.

sorry

sorry about that, i wasn't aware of the rules.

does anyone know about the oil for the tcd diff?

-You can not use diff oil in the front diff. What most people do is buy a new diff and put it in the front. They say the TDC diff makes the car twitchy.

front diff

cheers bro, so whats the oil i should use? i'll try the diff and see how it is and then maybe change it, so any other tips?

I'm not sure about what to use, but I'm pretty sure its a certain type of grease. I'm not too certain about the kyosho cars because I've never had one, but I do know they are fast!

i can't wait to use it, its so frustrating waiting for bits!
the motor i've i've got is a pre run in rb s7, not sure if these are any good, all the reviews say so.
as for the diff, when u buy one new it has a red fluid with it (tcd fluid) i guess i'll have 2 search for some

thanks

the rb s7 is a very good motor....if it is in good shape you will like it alot....

i can't wait to fire it up even more now!

i need some advice on setup for this thing, my local track is quite a tight and twisty astroturf with about a 25m main straight

My dad has a SP1. The kit comes with some LSD oil. Its red, I'll see if I can find a part number or somethin for ya. I like the LSD diff, the SP1 does tight corners very well with it, it is a bit twitchy at high speeds tho. I've been runnin the stock set up and it runs great. If you have tghe manual set it up how it says and see how it does. If you have certian things you don't like post em up and I'm sure theres people who can help.

unfortunately i don't have the manual, i bought the car as a rolling chassis from ebay and have been trying to source the bits for a few weeks, nearly there now tho!!!

thanks for all your help guys

shakeymp777,

in case you're still looking for a manual, you can download them here:

http://www.kyosho.co.jp/web/download/instructionmanual/buggy/buggycar_index-e.html

you'll need an Adobe PDF reader though. Also, if you're still sourcing for parts, we stock a full line of MP777 SP1 and Sp2 parts
