Hey guys having trouble between these 2 buggys I'm looking at these 2 there not the sp1 or the prospec they are a little steep. I want one that i can get parts for fairly easy i dont have a lhs where i live the closest one is about 100 miles to it so i do most of my shopping on the internet for parts i want duability, good customer service, a wide range of upgrades and of course very good performance, and a buggy thats not gonna be outdated in 2 months or if you could recommend another buggy the max i want to spend is about $500 for the buggy. Can you guys give me some advice?

I'm tempted by an MBX-5 myself, they are sturdy, parts are reasonably priced and available from many reliable online sources.

The rumour mill is suggesting that the MBX-5 is due for replacement later this year and this is holding me back.

the 777 basic model blows chunks....needs too many upgrades to be race ready...mugen is the way to go for parts too.......I run Xray and thinking of switching to a mugen just for the parts availability....

id skip the kyosho for now, the std. 777 isnt all that great, too many compromises on it. and parts will not be available until kyosho gets thier dealership network reestablished here in the states. i would go with the mugen or look into the raycer XB8, Jammin X1-CR, or TTR S3.

My next ride is going to be the ttr s3. I like the design and innovation. But you definatly can't go wrong with mugen. I built a prospec this past winter and I must say that the craftsmenship is impecable. Very easy to put together, and its a thing of beauty!

I like my 777, but I'm not racing. The only things I'm adding are better chassis braces and CVDs all around. Other than that its a decent buggy for the price. MBX-5 is probably more raceable out of the box if thats what your looking for.

The only thing I don't like about the 777 are the supplied braces, hence I got better braces as well. Also the self tapping screws are evil, got a set of metric screws (machine threaded) and they do a much better job and are compatible with a host of upgrades.

Would be hard to me to bash the 777 considering mine is a cross between custom, sp1, stock and erm....custom LOL :D

However, I would like to get a MBX5 or whatever replacement that comes out, it seems like a very nice buggy!

i think I'm gonna go mugen but its gonna get replaced? hmmm are they just gonna stop making parts for the mbx 5 kinda waste of money if they stop making the parts for em unless the parts from the new buggy will go on the mbx 5 how often does mugen come out with new buggys and does anyone know when they are gonna come out with the new buggy i see acehardware has the mbx 5 on sale for $469 so they must be trying to get rid of them for some reason I'm not gonna buy a buggy till fall ill build the buggy during the winter slowly adding to it start by building the buggy then buy an engine then some servos then a starter box.

Mugen will not stop makeing parts for the mbx5. I have read that mugen will not be replacing the mbx5 because they can't get a better suspension setup then they have now. Don't make fun guys I'm just relaying info.

now heres my next question should i buy the mugen now they have it for sale at ace for $469 right now or wait i wont start building it till this fall.

if your not going to build it yet, just wait, the closer they get to the mbx6 the cheaper the 5 will be, not to mention it might come out about then, not that i think they can improve to much on what they already got

Well it seems I have to sell the MP777 after all, I can sell you one brand new, but it is built. PM me for details.

sry not looking to buy off here i want to build it myself put what i want in it if i get one it will be new and sealed in a box sorry

ac48, why u selling the car, th :fro: ought u got a new engine and a body for it!!!

pissant I did, also got a Mitsubishi 3000GT! I'll still be in the hobby, just with a cheaper buggy, thinking X-Terminator Deluexe. No problem Candy_Man.

Candy_Man I have two MBX-5s built up to Prospec. They are hardcore bashers and excellent racers (can't speak from personal experience on the racing as I am a basher).

Mugen would be nuts to stop making parts for the MBX-5. Too many out there and too solid a fan base to mess with it.

I'd recommend the MBX-5 and suggest looking into the Prospec variant as you will get a more sturdy ride, not that the regular variant isn't tough enough...I just like to have a tank that goes about 50mph and can jump just about anything and survive.
